Very, very capable on defense, but he doesn't really do anything well on offense in recent years. Used to shoot well, but that's gone by the wayside.

Yeah, I'd be willing to give Jeffers a chance too. Nice prospect.

I'm okay with Pavlovic. I think he hasn't been fully healthy in a long time, but he won't be a disruptive presence and maybe he can get a second wind and contribute.

I still remember how he shut down Rip Hamilton for a few games in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2007.

Hmm...I dont remember him being a defensive player but its been so long since hes been relevant my memory could have faded.

How can a player who is not too old lose his shooting touch?  Doesn't make sense.  Are you just referring to his scoring averages?

As far as the signing...(yawn)

well, i trust danny at this stage, otherwise i would barf my brains out at the thought of signing pavlovic instead of powe.

neither would see the floor, but at least powe would have the fans excited.

oh well. since ainge got green, krstic, dropkick, and draft choice i wont complain on this move.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Somehow, we just managed to sign a player whose greatest strength is shooting, but who has been since 2008 a worse free throw shooter than Rajon Rondo:

I am unimpressed.

You girls still conplaining ? About a 13th, 14th, or 15th roster spot? Gimme a break. Your big signing for buyouts was yesterday.

If you don't appreciate Ainge, we'll take him off your hands out here in NorCal for the Kings or Warriors.

He'd also defend Kobe as well as anyone in the league.

Anyway, as an alternative to Von Wafer as the 4th wing, he's okay. More defensive minded, with more experience, bigger.

Is that a joke?

Nope. Some guys defended Kobe better - Ruben Patterson - but Pavlovic was up there. He had some excellent defensive games versus Kobe.

He was a pretty good defender and from what I watched when he was in Dallas he's still decent.

I don't see too much complaining going on, especially about Danny. See, for example "I won't complain" right before your post, or "I am sure that Danny is a terrific GM," or "If that's the best Danny could do, so be it." You call that complaining?

There's just a lot of indifference. I for one was just expressing shock at the guy's numbers.

thanks for the info, I feel a little better about signing him now. I just remember Pierce abusing him

We can still get Powe

I'd feel sick if Ainge signed Powe instead of Pavlovic.  At 6'8" with a reputation as neither a great nor a horrible defender, Pavlovic could be an upgrade over Von Wafer in the role of third-string small forward.  He might even see minor minutes in the playoffs in that role.

Powe would be the fifth- or sixth-string power forward and can only play one position.  That would be an incredibly idiotic use of a roster spot.

I'd rather have Luke and Semih.  Sasha = The Suck.

He's our 14th man, so no big deal, but if Green gets hurt, I'd prefer that Wafer gets minutes over Sasha.

Totally fine with the Pavlovic signing. Dallas would've singed him if Brewer went here. Vice versa. w/e.

Anyways, I'd rather see a PG signed with the last spot. Drop Chris Johnson and pick up a true veteran that wouldn't mind warming up the bench to pick up a ring, play hard in practice, but step in given an injury. heres my list

Anthony Johnson
Ty Lue
Antonio Daniels
Can't stop, Rondo!
