Mavs signed Brewer to a multi-year deal for more money that we could offer.  I think you're assuming Danny had alternatives that didn't actually exist.

Yeah, I'd be willing to give Jeffers a chance too. Nice prospect.

I'm okay with Pavlovic. I think he hasn't been fully healthy in a long time, but he won't be a disruptive presence and maybe he can get a second wind and contribute.

I still remember how he shut down Rip Hamilton for a few games in the Eastern Conference Finals in 2007.

Eh, provides a little insurance. I rather have him than an empty roster spot. If that's the best Danny could do, so be it.

Career 35% 3PT shooter and not awful on defense. As a 14-15th man, not terrible.

He'd also defend Kobe as well as anyone in the league.

Anyway, as an alternative to Von Wafer as the 4th wing, he's okay. More defensive minded, with more experience, bigger.

DA's gamble was the trade -- whether it works out remains to  be seen.  Losing Brewer/getting Sasha is very close to meaningless to us. 

I am not sure about the trade, but I am sure that Danny is a terrific GM.
