Consider this:   How could anyone other than Murphy and his agent know who the 'frontrunner' is?  And what benefit is there to Murphy and his agent (really answer this) to tell one specific team they are the frontrunner.  If I were them, I'd want multiple teams to think they have a shot at landing him.  It would not be a smart bargaining position to tell a team prematurely -- 'I want to play for you'.  What you want is to keep multiple teams in the mix to drive up the interest and price.

I give all the reports on 'frontrunner' limited credibility unless directly from Murphy or his agent.

Maybe Danny can get on a plane and pick up McHale on the way, and show up at Murphy's door for the hard sell a la Theo- Sell him on he can be a part of something greater with a team filled with history and unselfish players.

He can be a part of us winning 18 or he can be a part of the Lebron show. I am holding out hope he chooses us.

Good post. I never understood that, either. I posted something on this same subject a couple pages back.

Blakely now saying Miami in the lead for Murphy. Looks like we have a trend.  :'(

You think it's a trend or Blakely just re-iterating what Broussard has said?

Blakely has different info. Says that Murphy's agent did not think Miami would eat two salaries to open two roster slots, but now they will.

Maybe they caught Murphy buying some beach sandals and crotch hugging Speedos.

I'm fully expecting Murphy to go to Miami now with Sherrod's update.

Chris Johnson should never see the court in any important game and should never be considered for one of these three roster spots.

I really doubt an agent would think that. That's Blakely covering his lower back.

It's ESPN more rumor mongering than reporting.

Weren't you also certain that KG was out for the season when he hurt his knee a couple months ago?  (Sorry if I am not remembering correclty).   Not saying you are wrong, but you sure do jump to negative conclusions quickly.

So we have had about 20 reports that he is most likely coming to Boston, and 1 report that he is leaning towards Miami makes everyone panic?

Murphy has the whole world waiting for his "decision." ::)
