Rondo is on strike. Showing up Danny Ainge for making that Trade. His Besties is gone.

lol what...I hope that's a joke. You really think Rondo would purposely play badly because his friend got traded? That's insane.

after hearing Tommy trash Powe in the pre-game show, I'm not sure if the celtics are really planning on signing him. Mike and Tommy know the scoop and try to lay off trashing our own guys
C's have no reason to bring Powe back.  he's still undersized as a PF and his knees are even more of an issue.

C's need someone that can play the 4/5 with legitimate size.

Boy, these guys just take the cake. I'm sure that some people will blame tonight's performance on chemistry, but that would be a red herring: the C's are exhibiting the same weaknesses they've been prone to all season -- turnovers, horrible passing, disinterested attitude. Truth is, they should have a killer offense; how could you NOT with guys like Rondo, Pierce, Allen and KG? Well, I guess I just explained how.

What did he say?

paraphrased:

they asked him if Powe can help, and he said if they had a spot for a guy on crutches then yes, but he has had so many knee injuries he can't even walk, he will never help this team

[dang] thats harsh.

Man, I hate seeing the team in shambles like this. We were the favorite before this trade! Now were struggling! I dont get it!

yea, I was kind of shocked that he let loose on Powe on air

Messing up the chemistry wasn't worth it...I've been trying to convince myself that this was a great trade but I can't anymore. Should have never traded Perk. Team would have been fine even if he sat on the bench for the rest of the season. Kristic seems cool and all but...you can't reinvent the chemistry that starting five had. You just cannot.

You've been trying but you can't anymore? After what? Not even a full game with our new guys?

Gimme a break . ::)

Yeah...you really don't get it.

I get it. Perk has been here for the entire big 3 era and the starting 5 has fostered chemistry that can't be replaced in the short term. Chemistry is important, it brings out the best of the players and it gives our guys an edge on the floor. But guess what, what has happened already happened. You can't turn back time. Perk is out, in comes Green and Kristic. How do you know that the new guys won't form better chemistry? Please, you are comparing half a game of sample size to 3 years. Is that fair?

Have some patience.

Disagree.  Chemistry will take more than one practice, but it will come.

2008 is over.  We're not going to do what the Pistons did.  We're going to keep trying to get better, especially 2 years removed from a title.  Our own guys' games has changed (PP, Rondo, et. al.).  The complementary pieces need to change, too.

And will everyone stop bringing up Perk playing or not playing? Its really not about whether he plays or not. Completely different knowing your starting center/good friend is injured vs traded to a team halfway across the country and knowing you will more than likely never play with him again. I think most of you really don't realize the type of chemistry this team had and how important it was. The chemistry is one of the things that made other teams fear us.

So KG, Pierce and Allen should be hanging their heads during games because their friend got traded? It's a business. They should understand how it is. If they're going to do that then none of us should be watching because it's incredibly unprofessional. Stop cryin, man up and start playing hard.

Of course, none of this is the case. These guys are all pros, and they don't get all weepy and emotional like fans do. This team is going to be fine once the two new players are fully integrated. All this Perkins stuff is so far over the top now that it's hilarious.

Tonight, the issue isn't either one of them. It's that our veteran guards aren't guarding anyone.

True. I have nothing against Danny and obviously want the C's to succeed. But this is not going to work. KG knows it, Pierce knows it. The whole team knows it. 20 games is not enough time to build the chemistry. I wish it were.

The veterans hate this trade and it shows in how they're playing.

KG,PP and Ray had closer friends traded away in the past and didnt affect them that much. you are clearly looking for something just so you can say "i told you so". even before perk was traded this kind of play was sometimes seen. cleveland game, bobcats game etc.

I'm looking for something just so I can say "I told you so"? What exactly would I be getting out of that? ::) I would love to be wrong.

just some thoughts after watching the Clips, they actually seem to have a real talent base now.  They could actually be a serious playoff team in a couple of years.

True...but I fully expect and have faith in Sterling to mess it up.
sadly, you're probably right about that.  he's not bright enough to realize how much more money he'd make with a really good team in LA.  Blake is on pace to be the "next big thing" in the league and really put fannies in the seats.

I absolutely agree with you. This is what they SHOULD be doing. But they clearly don't agree with us. My point is this trade affected the team more than we ever thought possible.

Chemistry will take a hit but its not going to completely disappear.
