would love to have murphy, i actually think he is a must get after the perk trade. im not a fan of kristic. i was looking over murphy's stats and am very surprised how well he rebounds for a 3 pt shooting center.

leon i would get just to be secure in case one of the o'neal's cant go

I'd sign Powe just for the attitude alone. Isn't the "badness" what we're going to miss from Perk's absence? Powe is a BAD man.

As for the concerns that he's barely played in the last 2 years, that's true but neither has Murphy or Sheed, but there are plenty of calls for them to join.

Who cares?  It's not like all toughness left with Perk. KG is a monster and Baby mixes it up with the best of them, not to mention Shaq won't hesitate to level someone.  We need a legit big man, not Powe. >:(

don't forget Kristic, he got arrested during the sumer world championship games for throwing a chair at the Greek team players during a brawl. I'm greek, and I still gained respect for him then.

Hehehe, that is so funny.

Disturbing though, definately. Wow, I hope he's gone to anger management classes since that.

I felt Krystic was on his way to becoming a very good center until he hurt his knee. I'm sure Danny and Doc picked Larry Frank's brain about him before Danny pulled the trigger.

He was averaging about 16.5 PPG in 30 plus minutes before he went down with knee injury. On a team that had VC, Richard Jefferson and Jason Kidd. He could score. Cool if he can get back to that level of production, although not realistic.

Kristic can ball on the offensive side in a way Perk never could. Yes, we lose D with Perk (well...we really didn't when he didn't play most of the season, but that's a different story), but we gain a ton on offense with Kristic. The +/- could cancel out. Seriously. Perk was a liability on offense. Watch Game 6 of the Thunder/Lakers series. Kristic goes to work early and often vs. LA. Perk would never, ever, ever be able to do that. Throw in Murphy and Shaq and JO and we still have some serious power at the 5. Plus that Jeff Green fellow.

While I'm not convinced it's Murphy, I am convinced that for Danny to give away the at least "serviceable" Erden, he must've been confident that he could get someone better.  I don't think he would've done it if he hadn't talked to someone's agent and came to some understanding.

Either that or he must be very, very confident about Jermaine coming back better than he was earlier this year.

Seems to me that Shaq plus Jermaine take the place of Perk, while Krystic is the substitute for Erden.  Makes sense to me, and probably to Danny...

Yeah.  While I think the fact that Perk wouldn't re-sign helped move Danny to do this, I don't think he would've made the move if he wasn't very confident he could cover the 5 spot.

What's the latest on Troy Murphy?

I haven't watched a lot of him...is he a good defender? What are his strengths and weaknesses?

Yes.  They can sign with the new team at any point though.

Good outside shooter who can hit the 3 ball and good rebounder; not a good defensive player.

Thanks.

I don't know why Danny is going after bigs who can shoot but are not good at defense. Well, atleast he can shoot...could be a good addition.
