Interesting move.  Almost seems like Danny's trying to win back a little goodwill from the fans.

Looks like Doc will be able to go back to the undersized back-up 4 by committee rotation we had in 2008 (Posey/Green, Powe, Baby) if he so chooses.

It will be interesting to see if Leon has anything left in the tank.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

Danny has never even thought of what the fans think when he is making trades. I just hope Leon does not end up being the best big guy that they sign.

we can only hope he is 80% the player he was before the injury. He is 2 years removed from surgery, but didn't really get a chance to play being behind Jamison and Hickson

Powe now ranks in the bottom third of power forwards for rebounding.  It's a shame, but he's not his old self at all anymore.

I don't mind Powe as the 3rd guy of 3 roster spots, just because his previous time here and knowledge of the guys in the locker room.

But Danny best do good on 1 and 2.

Troy Murphy is the second best big man on that Warriors team.

It still makes no sense to me why they would consider buying him out.

Can't imagine why they would buy Murphy out, either ... it makes little sense. I love Leon, but he's not the player he was when he was here, and I think people are thinking of him that way. I'm not sure he can add much on the floor, realistically, but he certainly has a Celtic heart, and would add to the positive chemistry of the team ... that alone can sometimes make a player over-achieve, so who knows? He could end up producing after all.

Wow, I didn't realize how good of a 3pt shooter Murphy is for his career 39% on 2.3 attempts per game.

He is also a beast on the board up until this season when he hasn't played much . Averaging 8.5 for his career.

Can anyone look up his post defense and pick and roll defense is he a strong defender?

He's a pretty slow, stiff, and lazy defender.  It's a major weakness.  I've read at least a few reports that his defense is so bad that it makes his offensive and rebounding contributions neutral, but I think that if he's used in the proper spots, he can be a big asset.

Something about that Warriors rookie class just destroyed defensive mentality... Arenas, J-Rich, Troy Murphy... No wonder Dave Cowens got fired.

Even if it is to save a couple hundred thousand dollars to let an unhappy vet on the last year of his deal go, why not?

Regardless of how good he can be for them, they can't trade him for future help nor are they making the playoffs.

He's not a marquee player that'll put fans in the stands. He's not playing there next year either.

Unless they are extremely interested in leapfrogging a few of the terrible teams to get a worse draft position, they should let him go.

I thought he injured either the same or other knee and had surgery again last year ?

I think Leon is pretty much cooked but I would gladly welcome him anyway. I love the guy and maybe getting back in Boston will reboot his career assuming his knees are not that bad.

I view this as Luke's replacement.  Still waiting for Murphy or Pryzbilla.

2nd!!!  Those were the good ol days.

It certainly sounds like Powe is headed back to Boston, and I welcome that.  We have a need right now, he's a FA, let's get him in green and get him playing while we wait on the Murphy buyout and resolution.
