Depending on who comes here, I could see the Cs keeping him on the roster much the way they did with the two D-League guys during last year's playoffs.

Even being up here for 10 days is a good opportunity for the guy--who you just know has to have been chowing down on pasta and banana shakes for years.  If he could put on weight, he'd have it on by now.

Its not just the weight...did you guys see how skinny his LEGS were? Sure he has springs, but no lower body strength...big difference.

I wonder if he has considered volleyball.

I am always happy to see these borderline guys get a chance to play in the NBA. It is obviously Johnson's dream to make it big time and for a few games, he gets to play with the best. He was having a great time out there.

Who knows, he may put on some weight and develop some skills, but if he goes back to the D-league forever, he will always get to say he played in the NBA for a short period of time, and that is awesome.

Anyone think this guy has more potential than Erden? Seemed very mobile and active out there, changed a lot of shots on the defensive end. He's a beanpole so he may have trouble establishing position or blocking out though.

Definitely more physical skills than Erden.

How about pairing him with Kristic. I think they would compliment each other well.  Johnson can play the 4 and be a good weakside defender and rebounder. Kristic can shoot.

Nope.

Erden has the size and strength needed.  Johnson does not.

Too thin to ever be a really effective player in the NBA, but his low weight allows him to beat the opponent down the court for lay ups.

Looked better than Mikki Moore, and seemed to understand the defense better than Semih.

He needs to bulk up considerably first. He doesn't even have enough bulk to play the 4 spot.

I would like to see Chris Johnson signed to another ten-day contract for further evaluation before the Celtics sign Leon Powe, as is rumored to be likely.

The guy can't compete in the NBA. If they have to sign him to another 10-day just to fill the gap, so be it.

+1 - Seems there's more upside for Chris than leon at this point - he could put on 25-30 lbs by the playoffs!

The guy is 25 years old. My guess is that he has tried to bulk up his whole life. I don't want Powe back, but would pick him 100 out of 100 times over this guy.

I like just about anyone in a Celtics jersey... including this kid.
