Okay I admit it.  I didn't have my contacts in.  I squinted at the television screen.  I saw this long tall player.  Thought I heard someone say Chris Johnson. I was like.  dang Tennesee Titans.  Can't be.
And was who this bleep that has the patched up uniform.  Krstic isn't supposed to get here till Saturday.  And the kids too fast.  Did Danny make another trade?  heh.

Turns out to be LSU's Chris Johnson.
Thought he ran like a greyhound and thought  Wondered why no one
had taken out a flyer on him before.

Here's his D-league stats.

What is everyone's feelings on him as a long term project.
Certainly is rail thin.  Makes Durant look like Karl Malone...heh.
But he seems to have some real athleticism and runs the court well.  Could be a good long term project.

I find him to be a curious signing.  D-Leaguers rejoice!

He looked solid.  But we have seen this before from guys before they are asked to actually play within the system.  Until he proves he can be productive within the system, I don't think he is anything more than a stopgap until the reinforcements clear waivers.

I screamed pretty loud when he slammed down that dunk on the rondo alley-oop.

I was waiting for something like that the whole game after I saw those highlights of him someone posted.

I think Doc needs to draw up some plays designed for this kid quick-like. He jumps like blake griffin and has big hands.
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

Stop gap.

I hope he enjoys his cup of coffee with the Celtics.

I was driving home during the third quarter and early fourth of the game and Maxwell was screaming about some play he made (I'm assuming the alley oop previously mentioned). Max was comparing it to Blake over Mozgov. Anyone have a video link? Didn't see it on any highlights on CSN or ESPN or NBAtv.

I don't think he is anything more to the Celtics than a tall Milt Palacio.

The Blake over Mozgov comparison isn't really accurate. I would compare it more to a standard Javale McGee alley oop jam. But it was quite refreshing watching an actual dunker on the Celtics  ;D

He was called up on a 10 day with the Blazers earlier this month. They weren't displeased with him so much as that if they signed him to another 10 day, Marcus Camby wouldn't have been allowed to return for at least another 2 weeks and the Blazers didn't want to jeopardize that.

Kid was refreshing to watch.

He has the shoulder width of someone a foot shorter. I don't think he'll ever be able to fill out enough to be an NBA player.

It was nice to see someone with a little bounce out there. This current Celtics team may be the most earthbound the league has ever seen.

I think he is a good stop gap till Danny picks up a veteran center that is bought out.

Anyone think this guy has more potential than Erden? Seemed very mobile and active out there, changed a lot of shots on the defensive end. He's a beanpole so he may have trouble establishing position or blocking out though.

6'11" and 210 pounds. He will be back to the D League after this 10 day deal or after one more.

He is listed at 215 lbs. But, I definitely think Rondo outweighs him by 5 lbs.

He needs to work on his positioning in rebounds, as well as strength. He was getting boxed out quite easily and often times, was too deep under the basket for possible rebounds on the offensive side.

He showed enthusiasm, as expected from a call up.

There is a reason guys are in the D league.  His is obviously strehgth.  Kudo to Johnson for coming in and playing hard.  But I see no future for him in the NBA.
