Green is going really help our bench folks.   Placing a starter on a second unit adds strength to that second unit.  We can go up tempo now for our second unit.  Wafer West Baby Krstic and Green and actually run on some teams.

TP to Edgar and thanks for this post.

I can certainly relate to the "Emotional" part of Celtics players. I was shocked and devastated with Bias and the effect it had on Boston in the late 80's, and then 7 years later Reggie Lewis.

Lewis' passing affected me the most. I was fortunate enough to see the man play in Green and how smooth and talented he was. I'll never forget watching the game on TV vs the Bulls where Reggie blocked Michael Jordan FOUR times in that game....

Fast forward to now? I hated to see TA go, and now of course Perk, as well as Nate. I'll never forget Nate jumping on Glen's shoulders after the "And one" foul from Lamar Odom in the Finals last year.

No disrespect to other NBA fans reading this thread, but I just think that Boston fans - when we like a player, he becomes a part of us. We stand behind him, even if/when he is struggling.

With Perk, we watched him anchor our Center spot during our dismantling of LA in 07-08, and we watched him play well next to KG over the years. We watched (with amazement, I must add) as he played well when KG went down in 08-09. I think that he and Rondo stepping up in that CHI series in 08-09 were key to us beating them (sans KG or Powe).

Danny Ainge is no criminal. He sent Perk and Nate to a fine, young team that needs their services desparately. Durant just signed a 5 year extension and he is going nowhere. Ibaka and Perk will form a frontline tandem that will cause many problems for their opponents.

OKC will begin a run of contention out West that I think will last several years.

In return, OKC sends us Jeff Green and Nenad Krstic. These two will help us big time as well, as we will see starting tomorrow night in LA vs the Clips. They are both young, and Jeff can play several spots. Nenad will play well with KG - remember: KG makes ANY center look good - look at what he did in Minny with Rasho Nesterovic. He will further enhance Nenad's already solid skills and he will fit at the 5 spot quite well.

I just refuse to believe that Danny would destroy the team. In fact, I think he may be extending our window with this - through next year.

Danny has maybe the toughest job in the NBA - trying to keep a proud, highly successful franchise viable into the future.

And I believe he has done that.
