Perkins was done for the year, stick a fork in him.

Really?  If he was that injured, then this trade will end up being rejected when he fails the physical.

Yeah, I haven't seen this anywhere, but am I the only one waiting to see if Perk passes his physical?
I am, they did reject Tyson Chandler....

me too. I wouldn't be surprised at all if Perk fails the physical. The fact that they haven't said anything yet is a bit worrisome. Also, knowing Perk, if he can someohow do it, he will purposefully fail the physical and come back here.

hopefully they aren't doing an exam on Nate's brain as part of the physical

It's over with if we don't get some solid bigs via buyouts.

The longer I think about the trade the worst it sounds.

Are we seriously going to have to count on an Old Shaq and washed up JO?

No, that's totally wrong. Who in the East can take advantage of us now that we lost size? The Magic are the ONLY team that can, and we have owned them year in, and year out. Against Miami, Chicago, New York, Atlanta, none of these teams will take advantage of what we just lost. Now, in the Finals is where we lose a bit. My pick from the West, Dallas, can really hurt us with their size, with Chandler being DPOY (My pick), and Dirk being a MVP candidate. Obviously L.A can also take advantage, but I still think we our the favorites, and we did get better for the future.

The trade has destroyed this team.

1) We wont have home court advantage against the east.
2) We wont have home court advantage vs the west, or the Lakers.
3) Shaq and JO both will never be healthy at the same time and available.
4) Our defense took a huge hit that we wont be able to replace.
5) We cant beat LA without HCA.
6) Getting out of the east will be extremely hard.
7) Teams can bully us in the paint and are not afraid of us anymore.

Stick a fork in this team, they are done.
We had everything going until Danny decided to blow it up.

Feel free to quote this post in the future if the C's win it all, but that is pretty much impossible now.

Are we really going to win with this guy?

ROF****!  Tell us how you really feel about the trade!

Weren't you the guy that cried when Red drafted Bird

OMG!  He's just another college player!

Danny is 5 chess moves ahead of you.  He realizes.

Perk can't shoot free throws.
Perk can't shoot jump shots.
Perk isn't played in the last 4 minutes of the game.
Perk wants too much money.
Perk's knees are a question mark.

Next year you all will missing Perk as much as you miss Eddie House and Leon Powe.

Go Go Danny Ainge.  They mock what they don't understand.

Kind of like Mel Gibson in Lethal Weapon? Dislocates own shoulder, flunks physical, gets ready to slam shoulder into wall: "This is gonna hurt..."

Did any of you naysayers of the trade watch the first half of the season?  I am worried about our big depth but deal with it.  We won a ton of games without Perkins and the rental centers.  Even with  Erden playing  whom is not as good as Krstic and we still won.

Hope we've got home court by the time the "real season" is around. I don't want to play the Bulls or Heat in there house.
Peace through Tyranny

Yes, we played Shaq, we played Erden some of those games too when Shaq was out .  We played Jermaine O'Neal too one or two and we won without Perk.  We have not had a steady C all year, folks.

Perk played his heart out.  I would have liked to see him retire a Celtic and another shot at the Lakers.   But this thinking the season is gone or we are done without him is silly.   We lost only 10 games when he was out.  We had the second best record in the NBA then and we have it now with him back.

Dwight Howard was 10 for 20 last time we played them.  Perk was guarding him and he had 28 points.  That is not exactly lock down D folks.  All this talk about him containing Howard is a really a falsehood.  Dwight has still lit us up. Perk is a good low post defender and he fights hard for position.    Shaq/O'Neal held Dwight to 6 points on 1-4 FG on 25th Dec 2010.  Another case of our beloved memories not matching up to the stat sheets or game play.

Danny would not have done if he didn't think the O'Neals were not coming back.  He must also think we can get a veteran too because he dumped Erden for roster space.  I don't think we are done.  I think we only just begun.
