I will miss him. He's one of my favorite current Celtics. Or I should say past Celtics. 

He didn't always put up the big numbers that people look at. But he did many little things that helped the team. And I really fear will miss these things this year. I'm REALLY not sold on this trade. Unless he's hurt worse then we know, I don't think this will work out well.

And then there was Thursday afternoon, a day of sadness unlike anything Perkins had ever experienced. "There was a lot of crying, lot of hugging going on," said Perkins. "And a lot of it was me."

"It's not even about a teammate. It felt like you lost a family member today," Garnett said. "Tough day."

"I miss them," Perkins said. "I ain't gonna lie. I'm gonna miss the hell out of them. It's going to be hard leaving them behind, leaving this team behind and the fans and this city."

"Like I said earlier, I love this team and I love those fellas," Perkins said. "I'm playing for another team now, but I'm always going to pull for them when I see them play. We're brothers. That's never going to change."

One of my favorite interviews. Perk was always frank and honest.

I like the trade for the Celtics, but I will miss Perk.

This is by far the sadest Celtics trade I've ever witnessed. Perk looked like one of these guys you would always see in a Celtic jersey. I loved his attitude, his honesty and all the things that make him great on and off the court. I was glad to see him come back strong earlier than expected and then... this.

Just by reading the reactions in the locker room and Perk's own reaction it makes me even more sad, almost the same feeling I had when we lost the game 7. The only silver lining is that Perk will now play for a good upcoming team where he will have a major role. Good situation for him. I hope he stays healthy.

Hey guys, remember 24 hours ago when we were all fretting over whether Perk's new knee injury was serious?

Kendrick Perkins is supposed to be over it.

He’s supposed to celebrate that he’s still involved in playoff games, but the Oklahoma City center recently admitted to reporters that part of his thrill died when Miami eliminated the Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

“I was wishing we could both end up in the (NBA) Finals and meet up, or something crazy like that,” said Perkins. “I’d be lying if I was telling you I was disconnected. We knew everything about each other. I hated to see them go down like this.”

“Perk did it,” Durant told Yahoo! “He wanted us to do it, and everybody listens to Perk.”

“I’m not surprised that he called that meeting, because Perk always spoke up,” said Rivers. “Calling a team meeting was new for him, but he’s always been very vocal. I just love it when people are inspired by winning, and that definitely describes both of them. Perk and Tony are inspired by winning. Some guys appreciate it more.”
