Nate Robinson on Kendrick Perkins:

He’s taking it pretty bad because he’s been here 8 years. He was real emotional, crying. I feel bad for him. He's been real tied in with Rondo and other guys on the team I feel his pain. I told him he’s not alone were going to OKC together. It’s not like youll be by yourself, you got me right by your side. We’re going to make it work together

Ugh. that poor guy. this is really going to stuff team chemistry - forget whether the team is capable of making a run at the championship.

i'm sure Rondo would prefer to play with a depleted squad than see his buddies be traded for trash (emotion speaking, not really trash)

Ahh man this is tough. Gulp.

Yeah, the vets in our team are mad too. Perkins was a great team mate and the chemistry our starting five shared was terrific.

I hope and pray that everything works out...but I HATE Danny right now.

You hate seeing stuff like this.  I really feel for Perk.  He's a guy who genuinely wanted to be here, and wasn't the guy to go on about getting paid and this being a "business".  I suppose that wouldn't bother me as much if I didn't think we also downgraded the team, but that being the case, it feels like a double whammy.

Really sad to hear this ... I love the big guy, and I know he was a Celtic in every sense of the word, was very close to the rest of the team and Doc, and looked up to the vets and coaches. I hope he takes a moment to check out some of the Celtic blogs, cuz he'll see just how much he's going to be missed. I really dislike this move the more I think about it, but as we could only offer the guy $23M for 4, I think we all knew it was just a matter of time. We love ya, Perk ... you will be missed in a big way.

It is definetely sad to see the big guy leave.  I am dreading telling my 7-year-old when I get home because I think he will probably cry.

It was fun to watch Perk grow up as a Celtic and be an intricate part of a championship team.  I have a feeling this has to do as much with Perk's health as his future signability.  A calculated risk by Danny to be sure.  Thanks for everything Perk, you always gave us your best.

if Perkins health is really one of the reasons we traded him, then he might not pass the physical

I don't post here a lot (obviously), but this thread got me searching for the login button.

We're all going to miss you, Mr. Perkins. Good luck and Godspeed.

Hate to see the Beast go. His defense and character will be missed.

In the long run I think Perk will be fine though. He'll move closer to where he grew up and will be on a young athletic contending team. He'll get his money and already has a ring.

Thanks Perk for all you've done since becoming a Celtic.

Play well with those young guys and hopefully, we'll see you in Celtics green again.

Really tough to see him go. Lifelong celtic, 8 years, fit well, loved the guys, seemed to bond with the community. Must have been a huge shock to him. It hurts.

I'll take solace in the following:
-He'd probably have to leave after this season.
-He still controls his fate this offseason
-OKC is relatively close to his Texas home and family.
