Perk, you deserve all our best wishes for the simple reason that you made yourself a solid player and a defensive force. Very few players have improved themselves so much and you did it with hard work and went from a fat teenager to a true "big man" in the middle. And on top of that you never whined, complained or Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.ed like a lot of those that come in the league. You are a class act and I hope you come back to the Celtics some time in the future. The "old man" on celtics blog wishes you well.

I'll truly miss Perk.  I don't often say that about professional athletes.  I try to view them as much as possible as pieces to the puzzle.  However, I loved Perk's attitude and grit and wish him all the best.

Kendrink: you've been a real pleasure to watch, your attitude and the way you play the game is great. Thanks for everything while you are in green, hope you find your way back here one way or another.

This is so sad. I love Perk to death, and I feel bad for him and Rondo (such good friends, torn apart).

We love you Perk.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
I wasn't ready for him to leave.

I was blindsided by the news.

You'll be missed KP hope you find your way back one day.

I'm still shocked... I'll miss Perk, and our undefeated starting 5. Since Perk didn't sign the extension offer, there was a lot of talking about him being traded, but I didn't believe it would really happen.

I wish Perk good luck, and a lot of health. If he can't play like he did before last year's injury (there's no good thing with Co-b around), this will make Danny look smarter, but I wouldn't like it.

Go Celtics!

I remember asking Perkins during 24-win season about his goal for career with #Celtics. He told me he wanted to win a ring for each finger.

Many Celtics fans all across the world are hurting today... To think just a month ago we were joyously welcoming him back :(

His last article as a member of the Celtics on the ESPN Celtics Blog featured this quote:

Quote
Celtics center Kendrick Perkins suggested at shootaround that he'll wait "five or six" days to let a mild sprain of his left MCL heal, but hoped to return before the end of Boston's four-game road trip.

"No, I might play in one of these games," said Perkins. Asked if he was serious, he added emphatically, "Yeah, I'm a Celtic, man."

I don't think there's a dry eye in Celtics Nation tonight :'(
