sounds like danny is not willing to move erden...i wonder who will be bought out and available?

They just saw him play last night so they probably aren't very interested in him.

Those that think Semi has bright nba future aren't watching the same semi.

The Semi that played last night is not the same Semi that has been there the majority of the season.

That one wasn't very good either.  Serviceable I suppose but, no hands and little strength.  And his attitude toward failure begets more failure.  He is a rookie though.

no hands? Semih actually has very good hands and is a very good passer . He is just rushing his offensive moves , but he definitely has potential.

A rookie, language barrier, and busted shoulder. And now he dealing with sick mother back home. I think he has done well for himself.

I disagree I think his hands are at best average at worst below average.  good passer?  I don't see it.

I can see that.  Good point.  He just wouldn't be a piece that Boston should keep from getting them help to win #18.

Oh, I agree with this completely.  And I am not sure how his name even came up in this thread.

Semih is a talented young 7 footer, who projects to be a solid backup center in the league.  Those guys have value, and his value is still growing.  But if you can get a really good player for him who can help them win now, you do it without thinking twice.

I don't think that deal is out there though.

amundson and bell for quis and nate works
http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4tuj927

maybe we throw in a couple of late picks to sweeten it.

Then we can trade Semih for a wing!
Andy Bernard doesnt lose constests. He wins them, or he quits them because they're unfair.

I don't trust the O'neal brothers to stay healthy. JO is cooked, and god knows what is going on with ShaQ.

I can understand why Ainge will not trade Semih Erden. The same way Bulls are hesitant to trade Omar Asik for a guard. Its a taboo in the NBA trading big for a small.

How about this trade?

http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4al2bkw
That is actually a reasonably fair trade.  I would certainly do it but from their end, it really depends on if they see value in Bradley and Erden.

This is what I don't get though.  Who says Danny won't trade Semih?  So far, the only rumor I have heard about him is that Cleveland is asking for him for Parker.  And I would certainly hope Danny wouldn't trade him for a wing who was mediocre at his peak, and has lost more than a step.

Admittedly, Semih DID look a bit rusty last night.  But what we saw last night is not far from Semih at his peak.  He isn't strong enough or skilled enough to really turn into anything in this league.  This is the primary reason why he fouls so much.  What little he has accomplished is due to being around good players while on the court.

people are totally underestimating Semih, Walton tried to trash him last night and Gorman was very, very protective, telling him a number of times to lay off him before saying that Semih just got back from Turkey and that he has a lot of stuff going on in his life right now. Gorman's tone was pretty serious, it sounded like Semih may have some issues at home to deal with. When he has been healthy and focused however, he has shown that he can be a starting center in the league imo.

Semih was home because his mother was sick, and is still injured. The fact that he _had_ to play despite all this shows how thin we are at center at this point. That's the main reason why none of our big men are going anywhere before the end of this season.

Frankly, I don't see it.  I will leave it at that.
