If we're doing this, lets go all out... acquire Boykins and Thabeet too, and hire PT Barnum as HC.. bring Darvin Ham out of retirement, sign Harold Miner and Gerald Green. First 10,000 at the gates a giant pair of floppy red shoes..

I don't suppose Biedrins would be available?

Yeah, I'm sure Bill Walton would endorse getting him!!

BTW, Sam Amick is probably the most unreliable source for trade rumors. He just prints what pops in his head.

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
Bill Walton is coming back to play for us?????
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

He should be embarrassed.  How could he possibly make a clown reference without bringing up Tony "clownshoes" Allen?

It's a tough way to have to burn a roster spot, but anything to get him off the air...

my first choice would be wright. he fits boston offensively and defensively...and knows the heat's system...next choice would be for murphy...6'11 guy that can shoot the 3 would be welcomed...imagine a bench of west, von, baby, shaq, murphy and if JO can ever get healthy

They have a few guys that could be useful pieces. I've always liked Brandon wright, amundson is a scrappy player, dorrell wright would help, reggie williams maybe, though he's unknown on defense.

I don't suppose Biedrins would be available? Then a Nate/JO/picks deal might make sense for them. Even so, Biedrins has to have more value than that.

That's the guy I thought of.  He's got 3 more years after this one at 9 million a year, while Nate and JO have only got 1.  I'd also feel a lot better about Biedrins defensively than Murphy.  On the other hand, if Ainge pulls the trigger on this trade it guarantees that either Perk or Baby is gone after this season.

No, I didn't mind that, or his description of Beidrins ("what does he do? I mean, he has a nice tan, but is that all he gives you?") but,in general, egads.

If its not Reggie Williams or Dorrel Wright dont do it. Unless Troy Murphy is flipped back to us. I would be p---ed if we end up with Vlad or someone else that isn't wright williams Monta or curry. Obviously those last two have no chance. But please we need a young athletic SF!!!

not sure if this is speculation or rumor, but here is another hint at the Golden St. deal

Quote
1:56 p.m.: The Celtics are continuing to shop for help at the small forward spot, a source tells Sporting News, and are believed to be offering backup guard Nate Robinson as bait, but without any takers yet.
Among the Celtics targets have been one of Phoenix’s small forwards, of which they have several, particularly Grant Hill or Mickael Pietrus. The Suns would be more open to moving Josh Childress, but the four years and $27 million remaining on his contract after this year is too much for most teams to stomach. Additionally, the Suns would like to get rebounding help in any deal they make.
The Celtics could also target Golden State forward Reggie Williams, but they would have to take back Charlie Bell’s contract to make the salary numbers work. Cavaliers swingman Anthony Parker is also of interest, but indications are still that Cleveland would like to keep him.

Trading for Murphy would not be such a good idea, we would be giving up more than we would be getting.  His expiring deal is worth way too much for us to make a deal that ends up benefitting us.

Brandan Wright is unfortunately in NJ now, so he cannot be involved in these trade discussions.

Dorell Wright is the ideal.  GS would be saving more long term money, and they get a back up point guard that is better than whatever Acie Law is dishing (or trying to dish) out.  He has been a stud starting for Golden State.  However, his defense is not ideal.  Fortunately for the Celtics, though, is i believe in Doc and Lawrence Frank and their team defense that has made even phantom defenders step it up.  I would not mind throwing Von Wafer in a trade for Dorell either.  Dorell makes a lot of what Von does redundant, and Von has some value after showing flashes of talent recently.

Plus, if we traded with Von, we would have an open roster spot for a bought out free agent, like Murphy.
