yup, this may have just killed any possibility of landing D12 in 2012 - they can def use Brook Lopez in a sign and trade (our best hope is that Lopez turns into the type of player thats just too good to trade or replace)... and if CP3 goes to NY in 2012 as well..... Sheesh.

Boston fans - let's enjoy this run now, because we may be headed back to the cellar in a few years.

Yeah, I suddenly have zero desire at all to trade for any future kind of piece.  I'm totally down with trading any young piece to win now.  Trade any draft pick in the next 2 drafts (late first round) for win now pieces or future picks which will hopefully be higher.  This is going to be a star studded conference and it is highly unlikely that we will have any.  Maybe we can prepare to rebound sometime around 2016, haha.

Rondo will be about 30... He may have another solid year left in him...

I actually think the Jazz get a pretty good deal. The Jazz aren't competing this year, and could be looking at a Melo like situation next year w/ it becoming increasinly clear that D-Will wouldn't stay.

So the two draft picks will probably be mid to late lottery picks in the 8-12 range.

With GSW's being protected and with them on track to finish with 30+ wins and with NJ sure to receive a nice bump in the standings over the final 30 games with Deron joining their team.

Yeah.  Still not a terrible haul though.  I think Favors could be a star, so it could end up a good package.

I'm shocked! :o

Poor Jefferson.  He goes from a terrible team to a team with promise (at least at first), now the best player is traded away and he's on a bad team again.

Well, actually, he goes from a terrible team in Boston to a terrible team in Minnesota, to a decent team in Utah that is now terrible.  Poor guy

Keep knockin Devin Harris...you're gonna be surprised. Utah isn't going to be terrible.

With the Jazz's current record, a motivated Devin Harris, and a new offensive plan that might actually utilize Al Jefferson's strengths..I think that Utah will not only make the playoffs, they'll finish ahead of Denver, and possibly New Orleans.

Nets still have some bullets left: Sasha Vujacic's expiring deal, and two more 1sts.

They might be able to land a third banana before the deadline.

I disagree.  I think they were a flawed team before the trade, and after the trade they are still flawed, but they just downgraded at PG from a guy who makes guys much better to a guy who is solid, but more of a scorer.

Unless they make another move for a wing, I think they are not going to finish off strong.

I'm actually kinda happy for the Nets - I was born in Brooklyn and raised in Jersey so they've always been a team of interest to me... People were rejuvenated when Prokohov took over, so it's nice to see it paying off for the Nets fans... We know they've been pretty starved.

Love the deal on both sides.  A starting caliber point guard, a top big man prospect and 2 firsts, while shedding salary? Nice take by the Jazz - and probably couldn't get that next year.

For the Nets, wow.

But do they have 3 PGs? Advantage: Kahn.

  • Thank you Eddie!
WHAT?!?!  I'm shocked that this happened now, with no rumors whatsoever.  That doesn't happen anymore in an era where people like Chris Broussard get paid to make this stuff up with the help of the ESPN Trade Machine.  Can we start arguing that the East is better than the West without getting laughed off the internet now for the first time since, like, forever?

They have three draft picks.  Save 2 of them for PGs...

Does Deron really make guys much better? Time will tell.
