Hard to see it happening. I expect him chase the brighter lights in a major market. Kobe was dropping hints during the All Star weekend. Link

very little, but not because of LA. I'd say the Brooklyn Nets are now in the driver seat -- though i will say this:

Jordan Farmer's player option for 2013 could be an absolute killer for them. unless they can find a taker for him, Petro, Outlaw (all unlikely) or Morrow (more likely), they won't have the $$$ for a max player in 2012.

They'll prob trade Morrow, which hurts considering he's the best fit of the 4. Point: The Nets bidding against themselves this summer could really come back to bite them.

I still think it's quite low.

Even taking out Deron Williams, I don't see the major appeal of coming to Boston.

Sure, Rondo would make a nice pair with him, but what else is there?

Pierce, at that point, will be 35.  Furthermore, while I know people have these fantasies of KG and Ray re-signing here for minimum deals, I a) don't see that happening, and b) don't see that mattering.  I don't see Dwight wanting to sign a long term deal that's partly predicated on relying on superstars in their late '30s to support him.

As I've said before, I'd love to be wrong.  I just don't see it happening.

I'd love for KG and Ray to sign min deals then too but I agree with you that that doesn't really add any incentive for Howard to sign here. That would be sweet for one year but I'm sure Howard would like to sign somewhere where he can be set up for years and not just a last hurrah with the old guys

I think are chances are pretty low. He strikes me as a warm weather kind of guy. Grew up in the south, plays there now. Just don't see him going here as a FA.

the chance of us landing Howard got considerably lower with williams going to the nets. however that was always a possibility him or cp3 goes to brooklyn in 2012 as FA with Howard.

According to some guy on espn the Nets won't have any money to sign him.

Not sure they will sign him. A trade deadline deal for Lopez and Contracts could get him if he won't sign in Orlando.

We should have the cap space to be in running but I couldn't put a percentage on it.   We could do a sign a trade like Bosh and Lebron going to Miami.  Trade Perk, Baby, whatever else for Blake Griffin when he is nearing the end of his rookie contract and Sterling is being cheap again.   Best frontcourt for the next 10 plus years with Rondo running the show.  ;D

Seriously if Danny could do something to make a big move like that it could entice Howard to sign here.   I agree KG, Ray staying for minimum deals wouldn't be enough to sell Howard to come here.

Zero. I think it is pretty clear from his comments and actions that he absolutely hates the Celtics. Do we really think that he is going to leave a climate like Orlando to move to a cold weather city like Boston when all that will really be there is Rondo?! He could go so many more places if he wants out of Orlando. Not going to happen.

And at Perks salary I think I'd rather have him. Dwight has a lot of flaws in his game that he doesn't appear to be working at correcting. Perk is an overachiever. If he could only stay away from those nagging injuries!
