I'm not sure that I'd do this one, but what about:

Boston trades:  J.O., Marquis, Perk

Houston trades: Shane Battier, Chuck Hayes, Brad Miller

if we gave up BBD instead of Perk, i'm all for it. we keep intact our championship-level starting5, Battier shores up our 3 spot and Hayes is an elite post defender.

What about Daniels + Nate + 1st rounder (and 2nd rounder) + $3 million

for

Battier

Works in the trade machine and all we are really giving up is a late 1st and nate. And I doubt the Rockets would turn it down since it would allow them to move Brooks which they are rumored to be trying to do.

I don't think the Rockets place a lot of value in Nate.  I also don't think they have interest in taking on salary for next year, which this trade would make them do.

Daniels can say no too

I am leaning towards Jeffries and battier

1) that makes bbd part of the deal
2) Jeffries is expected to be traded
3) he can be played behind PF in boston
4) that for some reason makes sense in my head even if they have to get nate
afgter all nate and bbd are like a unity on their own

I know Perk and Baby are being brought up a lot, but don't forget Semih. He's a 24 year old, 7 footer who has shown potential. And unlike Perk and Baby, who will be wanting big money, the Rockets will not have to deal with a negotiating a contract, as he is signed for the next 2 yrs for minimum money.

TP, Eddie, I agree.

If Houston was going to take Asik for Lee and had that serious of an interest in him, I can definitely see them taking Semih. http://basketball.realgm.com/tradechecker/saved_trade/5857733

Celtics get : Battier

Hou gets: Semih, Bradley (a young piece equivalent to a 1st roun pick), MD and Nate + any combination of cash?picks necessary. Nate replaces Brooks whom they will most likely move.

No Baby and No Perk!!

Another (ugh) Perk scenario that works better for me is:

Perk
J. O Neal
Daniels
future pick

for

Battier
Hayes
Jordan Hill or Pat Patterson

This gets us better value for Perk. If the Rockets insist we take Miller in place of Hayes, but keep the pick. Our center rotation becomes Semih/Davis/Hill and PF is Hayes behind KG. Still not thrilled with trading Perk, but a slightly more palatable situation.

The Celtics are looking for a backup to Paul Pierce and the candidates are Cleveland's Anthony Parker, who is playing out an expiring contract, New York's Roger Mason, Washington's Josh Howard and perhaps Indiana's Dahntay Jones.

While trading for Battier would be great for the Celtics I just don't think that the Celtics have the pieces that the Rockets are looking for. The only trade assets that they have is Nate, Marquis and the 3 young guys and out of them the only appealing might be Nate and even he is having an off year. If you include Marquis you are still in the same position that you were before... with just one back up to Pierce.

Not sure about Roger Mason, doesn't excite me and plus I don't think the Knicks would take back Nate but you never know. Josh Howard has become injury prone and I would stay away from him. Jones is okay but bottomline he has ZERO offensive game... worse than TA. Davis might be a good trade asset but that would just be if Doc trusts Luke enough and I'm not sure Luke is ready for the minutes that Davis has logged. Unless Danny tries to get a forward who can play both small and power forward positions, then including Davis in a trade could work.
