I'm not sure that I'd do this one, but what about:

Boston trades:  J.O., Marquis, Perk

Houston trades: Shane Battier, Chuck Hayes, Brad Miller

Too Expense. Ainge would be foolish giving up Celtics Advantage for backup Forward when he can go cheaper route. 3 cheaper options: 1)Wait for Q to recover meanwhile Von & West fill in, 2)Wait for a buyout, 3) make small cheaper trade to shore up the position.

I think the only reason C's go after this trade is because they feel or Doctors have told them that Daniels is done for the year.

If hes on track to be back, why would they do this?

Probably forfeiting the Championship, Perk is by far the best player in that deal.

Hayes wouldnt be used in the playoffs due to his lack of height, Battier would be great, but with the additon of Miller, all of our Centers would be 30+ and injury prone except for Semih and we would ruin our chemistry with the starting 5 plus give up defense.

Better off just seeing how we do with what we have in that case imo.

True, but is Perk alone better than Battier, Hayes, and Miller?  Hayes is an elite defender and has developed a modicum of an offensive game, and Miller is still a competent player (at least when healthy) who would fit our offense well.

Again, I don't know if I'd do it, but I can see the reasoning for something like this.

EDIT:  I just saw your edit, and I think you're wrong about Hayes.  He'd absolutely see minutes here, because lack of height or not, he can definitely play.

No interest in Brad Miller at this juncture in his career. Too weak defensively and on the backboards.

That kills the deal for me.

To get someone of Battier's caliber you have to give something up.  Why would HOU take all of our trash and rejects?  Those typs of deals look great for us, but tell me why HOU would do it?

All these trade packages involving Nate + JO + Marquis + Bradley are unrealistic; do you think NBA teams are knocking down our door asking for those guys???

I'd rather trade Perk than BBD if we have to part with one or the other.  We have other centers, although not healthy.  If you trade BBD you only have KG at the 4 and KG is not yet 100%.  Additionally BBD has filled in at the 5 when necessary.  I understand Perk's value but you need to give to get.

Yeah, I think taking on Brad Miller's deal would be a lot of the incentive for Houston.  They'd want to clear his third year, especially if they were taking on JO.

The third year is only partially guaranteed. Only a minimal amount guaranteed too (update: only $1mil of final year guaranteed).

It's Morey's way of developing further trade assets. He likes to give players that final year with mostly non-guaranteed money after seeing how valuable those contracts have been over the past 18 months.

Shane Battier trade is a pipe dream. Rockets would want either Baby or Perk in any trade. The Two are much more valuable to Celtics than anything Shane Battier would provide. Which is why I believe Celtics and Rockets won't be able to make a deal happen that would satisfy both parties.

I know Perk and Baby are being brought up a lot, but don't forget Semih. He's a 24 year old, 7 footer who has shown potential. And unlike Perk and Baby, who will be wanting big money, the Rockets will not have to deal with a negotiating a contract, as he is signed for the next 2 yrs for minimum money.

If this trade is just between us and Houston, I don't see it happening. Looking at the rosters, I don't see a situation where one team doesn't get screwed and neither Morey nor Ainge are fools. This has got to be part of a three or four team trade.

I'd be all for this trade. I'd hate to give up Perk, but at the same time with injuries to Quis and J.O. you are essentially getting three pretty good players from Houston for only good player from Boston and two injured guys.

Don't do this... don't tease me.

It's long been my wish to Shane in green. Just the thought of it make me.... I can't, it's too much.
