I never said Toine was a mini Garnett. I said Toine's passion for the game is pretty powerful and exuberant, but not on KG's level.
Okay, I misunderstood you then. You said 'toine's passion for the game is like a mini garnett', and I assume you meant he had a passion for the game that was in some way comparable to Garnett's.
I still disagree with that however, if you think Toine's passion that much more than Sheed's, I don't think either guy is a night in night out 100% guy anymore..they both are pretty well known for mailing in games.
I've never seen Toine, as a Celtic, mail in any games before.
Maybe as a Miami Heat, Toine didn't give as much as he should, but he was the only Heat to show up in their 0-4 sweep by the Bulls the year after the Heat won the chip.
I dunno, I think lazy shot selection, half hearted defense, and playing just overall lazy when the team was down is mailing in games..and its definitely things both Sheed and Toine are guilty of, as Celtics and otherwise.
Toine's often faced criticism of coming to camp out of shape, lazing around during games, playing soft, especially in his shot selection..and Sheed has faced the same stuff. That said too, they've both been integral parts of championship winning squads.
Did you watch the Jim Obrien Celtics?
Lazy shot selection befell both Toine and Paul Pierce, and I contest it was the will of the coach and the design of the offense to shoot those shots....not by laziness's design.
Giving up and playing lazy ball when the team was down? That was never a trademark of those Celtics teams...maybe it was a trademark of those Doc Rivers teams with Jiri Welch, Ricky Davis and tanking for Durant and Oden...but it wasn't a trademark of those Jim Obrien teams.
