Troy Murphy is a potential buyout candidate, I think.

Regarding Rip, the Pistons would have to agree to pay him *a lot* of money to buy out his additional year plus his option year.  I think they'd like to clear him from their roster, but they won't pay him close to full price.  In other words, it's unlikely to happen.

I would like to get Troy Murphy.

I've heard his game has dropped off a decent amount though from last year...

Either that or he was overvalued last year.

Is that the case?

He hasn't played much this season so it's hard to say. He started the season injured and lost his spot to Kris Humphries (go figure) and Coach Avery just seems to prefer Humphries at this point.

Still, if he's bought out I'd like to go after him. Even with all the big men we have this season, we seem to still be lacking depth due to injury.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I'd love Chris Wilcox for big man depth.  Great open-court big to come off the bench when we want to speed the game up.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

If Von Wafer has to spend any time guarding Lebron, he will score every single time up the court, either at the foul line or by getting to the hoop for a layup. I am not saying I would take Gaffney over Wafer, but I guess just pointing out that currently this team is in pretty dire straits.
This is true but LeBron scores or gets bailed out by the refs on every possession against Daniels as well as most other back up SF that we could get.  We will be better off when West comes back because he can take the back up SG minutes and Von Wafer can focus on the SF minutes.

I am all for adding depth both bigs and wings but we can't afford to trade Davis and probably not even Nate based on what I perceive we could get back for them.

If we can by some miracle, trade Nate for say Battier, then great but I don't see it.  More likely it is something like Bradley for McGrady who still can't cover Lebron.

I'm listening to the Heat v. Celtics postgame show on Weei.  Some dumb caller asks if the Celtics should trade Pierce. And then asks what about trading KG or Ray to bring someone in who could help.

Someone also called to say the problem is the Luke isn't getting playing time. ???

Who are these people!? ::)

He didn't want to insult the guy so he just says that the Celtics aren't trading any of those players.  Some people called in after and said they were crazy and Rider agreed. lol

Eh, I'd rather have Baby than most of those players except I might take McRoberts and Rush from Indiana.

Hey, a guy can dream cant he??  ;D

This really just me saying I'd be interested in acquiring either Hinrich or Josh Howard from the Wiz.  If the Wiz would even consider (which they wont  :)) this trade it would be because of draft picks along with acquiring Bradley.  They still would have the same amount of expiring money after next season, so it doesnt help them in that regard.

The only one I would do would be Warrick/Pietrus, if I were to move Baby at all.

Baby is CLUTCH. There is a reason he is on the unit Doc finishes games with and not Perk. He can hit shots and key free throws. He loves it, thrives on it.

Maybe he's not a starter, but there aren't many better 6th men than him. And he's versatile: he can body up Dwight and moves his feet well enough to probably lead the league in charges.

I am not disgreeing.  I was simply suggesting that if there is a trade, that it may be something like that.

The addition of Troy Murphy to this team may be the best move out there. This from a buyout by the Nets, but not a trade. He is not the player he was, but would thrive in a supporting role with other veterans IMO. His shooting and size would be invaluabel for 15 mpg if JO doesnt return.

Chris Wilcox would also be a nice addition if expectations were kept low. I think he would give his heart and soul to be part of something like the current Celtics. He is a skilled, mobile and long bigman that will give us excellent defensive effort for 15-20 mpg.

If we could work a trade with the Pistons to get Wilcox and T Mac without killing the future, I would be more than satisfied. I think it would cost Daniels, Bradley and a future pick most likely. That is high, but if it gave us another banner then is it really too high?
