I can't believe that I dropped money to go see Ray "TRY" to tie and break the record in Charlotte.  What a freaking joke!!  Ray had NO intention of tying or breaking that record last night!!  Was his mother even at the game??  Doubtful!!!  Of course he wanted to break it in Boston vs. the hated Lakers, but that cost me and my son a bit of history.

I watching as he NEVER attempted another three after coming within one of the record.  Ray, VERY uncharacteristically, took tons of 15-17 footers from that point forward!!  He would actually catch the ball behind the line and with his quick release, he could have shot 2 to 3 attempts, but refused to even try one.

I NEVER like when anyone, refs or the GREAT Ray Allen, tries to manipulate our wonderful game.

If you were there, it was SO very obvious.  If you taped the game, watch it and you will see.

And if he had broken it in Charlotte, you wouldve had those going to the Lakers game sorely disappointed.

Ray is a class act who would never manipulate a game in that way. I'm sure he's anxious to break the record and get it over with, he would never delay it on purpose. There have been games were Ray took 3 shots total as a celtic, sometimes the offense just doesn't find him.

Dang, reminds me of Lebron James.

Should he break the record just for you???

I don't know what game you were watching, but I wouldn't have tried to force awful contested 3s if I were Ray Allen either. Charlotte's defense never let him get open all game. I think Ray is more of an efficient scorer than a volume scorer.

These threads about Ray and the "fixing" of breaking the three-point record are really annoying.

  • No contaban con mi astucia !!!
the law of averages was with ray
I see and I am sure you saw very close defense from
charlotte guards so
as the owner of a post ready to come saying Ray ties the game
and like all knowledge than he can easily cruise a game without a 3 if thats mean a better shot i absolutely disagree

Which sounds more likely?

A) Ray sacrificed the C's win so that the record could be broken on Thursday.

B) Fans with a feeling of entitlement feel bitter and come up with elaborate victim narratives when things don't turn out the way they want them.

Ask Laker fans how often their team wins on a night that Kobe passes a milestone.

(Answer: rarely.)

I don't even care if he did manipulate it so he could tie and break the record at home on National TV against the LA Lakers. I mean what could be better? It's his record in front of his fans against their biggest nemesis. And its a moment he undoubtedly wants to share with the fans in Boston. And for the rest of the people (like me) I'm going to have it all DVR'd up so I can hit the repeat button over and over and enjoy the moment as many times as I want.

I didn't get to watch the Bobcats game, but as a Celtics fan, I hope he wouldn't break it against Charlotte and I'm glad he didn't. I never expected him to do it in Charlotte. I think he has done enough and has always had enough class that he deserves the right to make sure it happens at home. And god bless him he's doing just that. The man is going to be the all time greatest 3 point shooter as of Thursday night. I cant say one bad thing about him even if I did go to the Charlotte game. I would've just figured going in that he ain't going to do it tonight. He's doing it with the people he loves and the people who love him. Ain't nothing wrong with that at all.

C) He manipulated the game so that Reggie Miller could see him do it while singing Ray's praises and cursing him on the inside. ;)

  • Rondo = Good
Guys, there's no guarantee at all that he breaks the record Thursday.

He could go 0-5 on Thursday.  He could go 1-8.  Impossible to say.  It could be a couple more games before Ray becomes the #1.  And hey, let's not jinx him.  You never know what can happen.  Let's hope he breaks the record on Thursday.  But there are no guarantees.
