I'm screaming conspiracy right now. They asked tom where Ben wiil rank among Brady and Manning and he said I put him in the same place as anyone else who has WON three superbowls, in the hall of fame.

Then immediately after that Chris Berman throws up both hands in disbelief and he said OH NO! And he looked incredibly frustrated after Tom said that.

A very shady moment at ESPN, lets see who wins, but if the Steelers win, here's one guy who won't be suprised.

Congrats Steelers, P.S. I'm rooting for the Packers.

Didn't Tom Jackson say the Patriots were going to beat the Jets?

If Tom Jackson didn't say weird things routinely I'd see your point

I guess the NFL got wind of this thread and pulled the old last-minute switch on us.  Tom Jackson's shadowy overlords will be very displeased at him for giving away the plan...

Okay, so obviously Jackson was wrong (again), but let's just try to think through this consipiracy....

The implication is that the NFL somehow games everything, and that ESPN is in it, and that the two secretly decide on everything and secretly decide on a fair split of all the extra money they are making than if.... they just went about their business as usual??? I mean, for starters, there is a 50-50 chance (or close to it) that the Steelers win anyway.

The biggest problem with conspiracy theories is that they don't calculate the cost of keeping the conspiracy together.  We're talking about huge costs here.  And the idea is that no matter how big these costs might be, they are *less* than the increase in revenues that will go to the conspiracists.

And I still don't know why there will be a larger increase in revenues if the Steelers win versus if Green Bay were to win.

Also, if there was a conspiracy, would ESPN and/or the NFL really tell Tom Jackson about it?  I mean, why does he get top secret security clearance?

Hahahah

I think I remember hearing Tom Jackson say that.  My recollection heard him say "I'd put him..." I'd being a contraction for I would which is the future conditional tense.  That condition of course being if they won the superbowl.

Why is everybody so convinced that there are conspiracies everywhere?
