Updated roster of the Pick 2 Blazers:

Starters
PG: Mo Williams
SG: Wesley Matthews
SF: Tayshaun Prince
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
C: Kendrick Perkins

Bench
PG: Jose Juan Barea, Eddie House
SG: Jodie Meeks
SF: Chris Douglas-Roberts
PF: Ersan Ilyasova
C: Jeff Foster

Clearly a Blazers team on surer footing. But with a lower ceiling - should we ever see a healthy campaign from both Roy and Oden. (Though I'm not sure we'll be so lucky.) A very strong defensive starting five - and proven in the postseason too. A tough out. This is exactly the sort of team I - as a fan - would pull for.

As for the 2010-2011 season, the team actually has its own injury issues. And the Trailblazers suffer from want of a better playmaker in the second unit. Neither House nor Meeks is good with the ball. And while Barea has been a handful as the Mavericks starting shooting-guard in recent weeks, I like him less while he's filling in for Mo Williams at the point. A lot of pressure has been put on Tayshaun Prince to create offense for his teammates. I guess I'd like to see Aldridge and Matthews unassisted FG #s?

If on the other hand, we assumed different seasons for Mo and Perk, then I'd expect this team to surpass the actual Blazers' win total.

SG: John Salmons/Carlos Delfino/CDR
SF: Corey Maggette/Luc Richard Mbah A Moute
PF: Ersan Ilyasova/Drew Gooden/Larry Sanders

New Bucks:

PG: Kyle Lowry/Jerryd Bayless
SG: Landry Fields/Reggie Williams/Deshawn Stevenson
SF: Paul Pierce/Shawne Williams
PF: Serge Ibaka/Drew Gooden/Tyler HansBrough
C: Andrew Bogut/Omer Asik

I definitely think I improved the current Bucks significantly.

I think that if you just understand that they'd sign a 3rd center in FA, Perkins being out and Foster filling in makes me not so nervous.

The Mo Williams injury and Barea being the primary play maker sets this team back considerably from where it might be otherwise.

I really like Jodie Meeks there though on the bench, and Ersan Ilyasova (an Ilyasova/Aldridge starting FC against teams without a dominant center also makes Perkins absence a little less impactful).

Same opinion I had before: Better D, worse O. The Bench is better at the 5 and 1 but worse at the wings and comprable at the 4.

If we want to look at it like so:

Andre Miller, Patty Mills vs 1/2 season of Mo Williams, JJBarea, Eddie House
Wesley Matthews, Rudy F vs Wesley Matthews, Jodie Meeks
Nic Batum, Wesley Matthews vs Tayshaun Prince, CDR
Aldridge, Cunningham vs Aldridge, Ilyasova
1/2 season Camby, 1/2 season Pryzbilla, Sean Marks vs 1/2 season Perkins, Foster

I think WW hit it pretty hard on the head. I think the current Portland team is maybe more talented, even when Brandon Roy and Greg Oden are removed from the equation, but I think your Blazers team would be significantly more consistent, and win more games..esp when Mo Williams comes back.

The Bucks are currently the lowest scoring team in the NBA, with the lowest FG%. Across the board my guys are better shooters...I don't see how I possibly have a worse offense.

Because you dropped the number of guys in the starting 5 who can consistently create their own shot from 4 to 2.

I honestly haven't the least idea what to make of your team. If we played out a season, few results would be surprising. You could be great, you could be good, or you could be average - I don't think any worse than that.

I don't know why, I just can't figure this team out. Hope this was helpful.

I rate the actual Milwaukee Bucks roster quite a bit higher than their W-L record and think they should be a 45-48 win caliber team. I think they've underperformed badly this season ... that they have more quality on their roster than they've shown so far.

So against that, I think your version of the Milwaukee Bucks are largely comparable to, or perhaps slightly better than, the real life Bucks.

If the guys in the Bucks starting lineup are consistent scorers good at creating their own shot, how are they all shooting under 45%, excepting Andrew Bogut?

And also, how come Kyle Lowry can't get into the paint? How is Lowry such a downstep from Brandon Jennings?

He shoots a better %, he gets to the line more often, he's got a top ten Assist %, and he's been a better 3pt shooter so far this season.

I cannot see any kind of rational that would say my teams' offense would be worse than they current Bucks.

Overall, a much better team.  It went from a team with one starter and a bunch of bench players pretending to be starters to a team with 5 solid starters.

TheWiz are looking to sneak into the playoffs this season with an eye towards springing into contendership next year.

Well, first off the Brandon Jennings and Kyle Lowry comparisons are misleading because Jennings broke his foot this year. So if you're saying that at this particular moment Kyle Lowry is a better offensive player, I'd still disagree because of Jennings' past production and his demonstrated ability to take over games. While Lowry produces, he is not a game changer offensively nor is he a dynamic offensive player. He is, as the numbers suggest when you use the numbers and not the term " better than"-- for example the difference between their 3 point perentage is .008,  a comprable player to Brandon jennings coming off a broken foot.

There is no way you can convince me that John Salmons and Landry Fields are comprable offensive players.

Pierce is a better player than Maggette, there's no argument, but the drop off from him to Maggette is far shallower than Salmons to Fields or even Jennings to Lowry.

Definitely better, but I still don't believe that a player who has not had a season ending injury each of his only 4 seasons in the NBA is ever going to be healthy. I think you'll have a nice team with Wall/Harden/Bosh but you need that low post option that Oden can't be because he'll never be on the court and that just isn't Monroe's style.
