Haywood / Hayes
P. Gasol / A. Randolph
Batum
Bryant / Redick
Billups

I'd assume that Both Reddick and Hayes will covering back up duties at both guard and big spots respectively.

I think that's a fair assumption.  Randolph was sort of a luxury pick, and wouldn't be asked to do much more than what BBD / Powe did on our championship team.

I like this team a lot, w/o looking at any other teams I'd say this would probably be the favorite for this year's championship, but I really hated that Anthony Randolph pick

Thanks for the kind words.  I knew the Randolph pick wouldn't be super popular, but the kid is 6'11" and has a knack for blocking shots and rebounding.  I figured he was worth gambling on, especially since I have two 7ths next round.

I actually kinda like a crazy transition team of Billups/Reddick/Bryant/Batum/Gasol.

Updated Spurs roster:
Kidd, Ginobili, Harrington, Kaman, Duncan

Hamilton, Warrick, Brad Miller.
Not convinced Rip Hamilton can adapt to a bench role.

Seems like the type of player who needs minutes to find his rhythm / role.

The Memphis Grizzlies:

PG: Jose Calderon
Wings: Luol Deng, Rudy Gay
PF: Brandon Bass
C: Marc Gasol

Bench: Javale McGee, Courtney Lee, Eric Bledsoe.

I really like this team.  I wasn't sure about the Gasol / McGee combo at first, but I think the BRandon Bass pickup really gave your team some balance.  I'm not super-high on Calderon anymore, but I do think he'll be able to get a lot of your guys easy looks.

I'm not that high on Calderon, which is why I was happy with the Bledsoe pick. I think he takes some pressure off Calderon and could be a solid starting PG as the rest of this team hits it's pride.

Ok -- let me have it   ???

Kaman and Harrington should come off the bench. the starters should be Kidd/Rip/Ginobili/Warrick/Duncan. Hack's athleticism and Rip running off picks will make Kidd better. Kaman will abuse 2nd string big men and Harrington will score in bunches.

What'd you guys think of me taking Toney Douglas at 6.17?

My logic was that with Iguodala & Melo both playing 40 minutes, it'd be in my best interest to get a combo guard who could soak up remaining minutes at the 2.

I like Douglas' overall game, but I'm wondering if I would've been better off trading back and seeing if he'd fall.

I think it was about the right range for him.  There were a handful of guys I liked better, but I think that Douglas is comparable to some of the other guys who were coming off the board.

Good overall team, Roy.  One criticism I have is that when building a bench, I think you want your best bench players to be the players who fill in the most minutes.  You have backups for the 2 and 4, but not the 1 or 3.  I trust that you will use your two 7th rounders to build that depth though.

I can see you liking the potential of Randolph, as I did in picking Rubio this round, but you're a team looking to compete this year and I'm a rebuilding team.  I think I would have focused on a 3 (unless you like several that you can grab in the 7th round) or another 4 who has shown that he can produce recently.

Until I looked at his actual #'s he was my #1 guy after Collison, I ended up at Bayless by talking myself outta Collison, Douglas, and Marcus Thorton.

Yeah, I plan to fill in next round.  Building the bench, I'm going for guys who are a good fit, rather than strictly by position at this point.

As for Randolph, last year he put up 12/7 with 1.5 blocks in 22 minutes per game.  I think he's showed he can produce when given minutes.  Unfortunately, once a player gets in Mike D'Antoni's dog house, he never gets out.  Once Randolph is traded, he'll be at the very least a consistent 8/6 guy off the bench.

Updated roster of the Pick 2 Blazers:

Starters
PG: Mo Williams
SG: Wesley Matthews
SF: Tayshaun Prince
PF: LaMarcus Aldridge
C: Kendrick Perkins

Bench
SG: Jodie Meeks
PF: Ersan Ilyasova
C: Jeff Foster

I like this roster, especially with Aldridge, but I wonder if Aldridge can really step up and put this team on his shoulders. He is showing he can at this point in the season, but can he be the long term leader?

Yeah, this looks like with the right coach could be a 6th or 7th seed without much hope of getting better than that.  They have a strong defensive core, and some guys who can score, but Aldridge is a second option at best, and the other guys are all 4th or 5th options ideally.

I think its better than a 6th or 7th seed.  Great defensive core with balanced scoring options. I really like this team

Ditto, big fan of this team..especially since they won't be asking he who cannot be named to do stuff he can't do. Matthews, Aldridge, and Meeks can all create their own shot. Biggest thing I think is missing is a change of pace PG..Ramon Sessions for instance I thought would be awesome here.

I was toying with that type of line up.  Sounds like solid advice.  need a couple more good pieces and I think I'm in business

Current Minutes Breakdown:

Demarcus Cousins (35) / DeAndre Jordan (13)
Taj Gibson (30) / Deandre Jordan (18)
Carmelo Anthony (40) / Andre Iguodala (8 )
Andre Iguodala (32) / Toney Douglas (16)
Kirk Hinrich (35) / Toney Douglas (13)

Gettin funky: Yao Ming

Probably need another swing to play 5-10 minutes and a rotational big for foul trouble protection, but I think if we absolutely had to we could live on a seven man rotation.

Def need another rotational big. Cousins and Jordan are both foul problems at this point in time..cousins is getting about 5 fouls in 35 mins, and Jordan is getting about 4 in 30.

EDIT: Not that I'm not a fan..I am. Just need a steadying guy who can get a CD-DNP just as easy as 15-20 mins, depending on how Cousins and Jordan play.

Calderon played at his best when there was a change of pace guard infront/behind him. Bledsoe is def that, and hopefully supplants Calderon in a year or two.

But right now you've gotta be wary of his nearly 3:2 assist/To ratio.
