I know the original story was for Delonte and Nate to share the backcourt together with Nate playing 'off the ball', but will that still be the case? It wouldnt surprise me to see Delonte get run with the first unit subbing for Rondo/Ray alternately.

If West proves he can run the offense efficiently for Rondo (instead of Nate) for 10 to 15mpg and play a little SG for Ray he is really going to be a difference maker coming back. That leaves a few minutes for Marquis as a Pierce/Allen backup and still none for Von Wafer.

Seeing Delonte for 20+ mpg and Nate for <10 mpg by St Pattys Day may be a reality.

Do you think Nate will become trade bait if West comes back and is ready to go?
yes but only for the right trade, we can stand pat with this team and to me have the deepest team in the nba
what can nate bring us that we need? we need a sf sub as we have paul and marquis in those posistions, very happy with von's turnaround in play and attitude but still not sure he could give us any minutes at sf

That's the goal.  Delonte is a true combo guard which this team doesn't have right now.  He gives Doc additional flexibility in the backcourt rotation.  Sure Wafer gets squeezed out (unless Nate goes to the doghouse which is a real possibility), but I'm fine with a Von Wafer sitting on the bench racking up DNP-CD's.

It's hard to guess at West's playing time based on the games he did play because Rondo was out for three of those five games, but it looks like the minutes would break down along the lines of 15-18 for West and 10-12 each for Robinson and Daniels in games that aren't blow-outs.  I could see Doc giving Nate's second half minutes to Wafer some of the time that Robinson has a bad first half, but you also have to wonder what sort of chemistry a Wafer-West backcourt will have.  Daniels could pick up some extra minutes as the occasional nominal PF in a small lineup when Doc wants to go with that options or is forced to, due to foul trouble/injury.  Of course, West is the kind of injury-prone player who seems to miss as many games as Jermaine O'Neal, so Robinson is likely to get a few more minutes that way.

Something like 18 mpg for West, 15 for Daniels, and 11 for Robinson, with Wafer getting a DNP-CD in about half the games, seems a quite reasonable expectation.  If you think West stabilizes the second-string offense and prevents fewer collapses, leading to more bench-emptying blowouts, that's probably worth an extra mpg on average.

Pretty amazing how good our defense has been while missing arguably our best wing defender (West) and our second and third best post defenders (Perk/JO).

This defense can get even nastier when healthy.

The only defense that measures up to us statistically is Chicago. They shut us down once without Rondo and Noah playing, but we smoked them on 51% and 53% shooting when they had Noah. They have yet to shoot more than 49% against us.

Miami has great perimeter defense, but are very vulnerable at the PG spot and in the post.

He should be back by the end of this month. Gives him enough time to be ready for the playoffs.
