Detroit Selects : Paul Pierce
Is he going to be a SG or is there a trade in place?
Detroit does need a go to guy.
I think Tayshaun Prince does a good job of defending two guards.
Allow Pierce to stay at the three. Give Detroit a big backcourt with all three perimeter players having good ball-handling ability, passing ability and post up games. All above average defensively too.
That trio will create quite a few mismatches. I think Detroit should keep them together.
I think Prince has a better chance of doing the job at guarding opposing SGs than Pierce will.
That said, I have a hard time seeing either keep up with the likes of Eric Gordon, Steph Curry, or the other younger guns in the league.
Perhaps a small ball lineup, with Prince at the PF. Tay acquits himself well against opposing stretch 4s.
On the other end though, do you think that either of those guys could defend a post up by Pierce or Tay?
