The Bucks select Kyle Lowry, 11.5pts, 6.5 assists, 1.5sts, 41% shooting and 34% from 3, all in 33 mins.
PLus he brings more defense to a unit who value it.
Let the Lowry vs. Jennings debate begin.
I think they are pretty close in terms of ability.
Lowry gives you a bit more defense + rebounding while Jennings adds more of a perimeter jump shot + is a more well-rounded passing.
Jennings does seem to have vastly more potential though.
--------------------------------------------------
His lack of progress, while not a surprise (expected more to happen in 3rd/4th seasons than 2nd year due to his skill-set/size), has been disappointing.
I would have liked to have seen Jennings to get up to about 52% TS% this season + show better leadership as a floor general in incorporating their scoring threats (Salmons, Maggette) ... neither of which happened.
There is still time for the scoring efficiency to improve but the floor general improvement looks off for the time being.
-------------------------------------------
Kyle Lowry had one hot shooting spell from three point range where he was nailing around 40-45% of his shots from downtown. Over time, I think that current mark of 34% will continue to decline as he comes back down to earth.
That mark will drop further on that Bucks team due to personnel. Houston's face paced offense and quality perimeter scorers/shooters generates better shot attempts than the Bucks offense is likely to do (Lowry / Fields / J.Smith / Ibaka / Bogut). Probably fall back to 25-28% from behind the arc.
