I have two basic conclusions:
1) This team, including its bench, has been built and trained for a championship. Ergo, trading Davis & Robinson would potentially cause some chemistry issues.
2) Davis & Robinson (Shrek & Donkey), are ultimately MINOR pieces to the puzzle. The ideal playoff rotation includes them playing small minutes. And I think people forget this. If we can trade Davis & Nate for someone who is talented then I believe they will fit into the well established chemistry of this team. Also, I don't think its unreasonable to assume that an NBA caliber player can fit into this team. We have a great coach and superb player leadership.
If the trade fits, I'm all for it. Ultimately my belief is that the chemistry won't suffer.
I totally agree! In my opinion, I think way too much is made on this site about "team chemistry." Sometimes, we need to remember that quality teams consist of quality players NOT just a bunch of guys who love each other and swap roses and chocolates before games.
Also, I think Nate Robinson is not the player I thought he was. When we traded 3 players to get him last year, I thought we were getting a more complete player who can shoot, lay-up the ball and control the pace of the game.
Nate clearly can't do any of this on a consistent basis. As for Glen Davis, I like his game alot and like him as a person.
However, two things about Glen. Number one, he is not an athletic player which sometimes handicaps our offense and defense. Also, Glen Davis may be gone after this season.
Now if you can get Warrwick and Pietrus from Phoenix for these two guys, I would do it in a heartbeat.
For me to be honest, I don't think this would happen because Phoenix wouldn't do it. If it were up to Danny, I think he would do it in a heartbeat!
