Maybe, just maybe if the Pats had a top defense then I could begin to reason a Brady trade. If they had a defense like the Steelers, the Ravens, the Jets or the Packers then all they need is a game manager. At this point they don't, they have an OK defense that can be shut down when spotted a big lead. In order to get that big lead they need a QB that can put points on the board. So unless they are getting Rogers or Rivers in return for Brady, then you are making the team worse for the forseeable future and I don't mean a little worse I mean 4-12 worse.
Also wdeehli, they have 8 picks in the first 4 rounds. They need to add a defensive and offensive lineman in the early rounds particularly since Light and Mankins are FAs and Koppen is getting up there in age.
Another running back wouldn't hurt, but their running game wasn't terrible this year and I see them staying with Benny and Danny.
I don't see them going for another receiver with Welker, Branch, Edelman, Tate and Price on the roster and two pass catching TEs.
Maybe another defensive back, although they'd be better off bringing in a veteran in the secondary considering the youth back there.
Personally even if Bill trades away some of those picks there are plenty left to bring in a QB, especially if there is one available in the 2nd or 3rd round that they like.
