First, I don't think Brady played all that bad or that Sanchez played better.  Jets receivers made some plays, the Pats receivers didn't even get open.

Second, why don't we offer Brady to the Jets for Sanchez straight up since Sanchez is now better based on one game?

Seriously though, I think the Pats are right where they want to be.  Yes, you need a good O-Line for a star QB to excel, no different than any team.  We are going to get good players in this draft (hopefully) and it may be a few years of getting better every year before this team sees its full potential but I think Brady has the years left in him for that.  In the meantime, we can compete every year even with what we currently have.

So tell me again, we would trade our best player why?

1st Brady didn't lose that game alone yesterday.  The offensive line got downright bullied, the defensive line couldn't get any pressure, the Pats secondary gave up two huge plays, special teams stunk, and the play calling and clock management were questionable at best.  That was a team loss.  And credit the Jets, they played mistake free football, took advantage of the Pats mistakes, played fast to the ball on defense and responded when they needed to.

2nd Brady is still a top QB in this league, so why trade him?  Maybe instead they use one of their 1st day draft picks and grab a guy to groom behind Brady.

And Sanchez may have had the better game, but Brady is still the better quarterback - end of story.  This is nothing more than knee jerk reaction after a tough and unexpected loss.

Or maybe use those picks to give him a weapon or two.

Or to shore up a defense that is much weaker then the Super Bowl defenses.

But seriously. We're witnessing a top 5 QB of all time. His prime could be another 5 years, it's not like basketball. And the jets defense is years ahead of the Pats defense in terms of experience and are much better. And so i guess that means that because Mark sanchez happens to have that D backing him, that makes him better than Tom Brady. In the words of Tommy, GIMME A BREAK.

While it is not time to trade Tom, it is time to start thinking of grooming his replacement. The NFL of the future will quarterbacked by guys like Vick and Rogers, who can deal with pressure with their legs rather than relying on their receivers to get open. Brady is an icon, and had a great year, but it is not too early to think about this.  With all their draft picks, they can figure this out. Might require a bit of "Luck" though.

Maybe we can trade Brady for Favre and Minny's 2nd round pick.
That is a low low blow.

Best season of his career? I totally disagree.

And if Sanchez does win the Super Bowl then I'd have to say Sanchez passes Brady as the better quarterback.

That's just plain silly.  That would also rank Snachez of Brees, Manning and any other QB who doesn't win the Super Bowl.  Only one team wins every year.
Right. The QB that went on the road and outplayed every other QB on their turf and then won the Super Bowl would have to be considered the best QB in football. Exactly. Kinda like when Brady did it and Montana did it people started to consider them the best QBs in football.

Without reading all the posts, your logic seems to assume that Sanchez and Brady play all of the positions on offense, defense and special teams. Otherwise, no, you can't just say that the team that wins the super bowl has the best qb.

Exactly...the Ravens won in 2000 with Trent Dilfer at quarterback...nuff said.  There's no way you can say Sanchez automatically becomes the best QB in the league just because you win the super bowl.  It's called a TEAM effort.
Give me Trent Dilfer's career over Dan Marino's all day long and twice on any given Sunday.

Who do you think is happier with the career of their QB? Miami fans, or Baltimore fans?

Vick is three years younger then Brady.

And this making plays with the legs is nothing new.  Elway, Young, Farve...

How about this, guys?

Which team would you be most afraid of?

Jets with Brady
Jets with Sanchez
Pats with Brady
Pats with Sanchez

If you ask me, the Jets with Brady would be the scariest by far.

Vick doesn't deal better with pressure than Brady really, typically he's worse at it.

Bad games happne, upsets happen, this is why one and done playoffs are awesome and terrible.

Because he hasn't gotten the job done in several years now. People keep saying I don't watch the games.  Can someone please tell me how phenomenal he played in last year's playoffs?

I guess 31 teams better trade their QBs then.

Most of the people disagreeing with me are doing a couple things.

1. Not paying attention to what I said. I didn't say trade him. There's a question mark on the  thread. I said see what you can get for him.

2. Totally contradicting themselves.  On the one hand it's a team game. We need a better defense. Then they point at Trent Dilfer and say "There. See. Winning doesn't make you a great QB automatically" (even though it kinda does).

But Dilfer won a Super Bowl

So which is it? We need a great QB?  Or it's  a team sport and you don't need a great QB? If it's such a TEAM sport and you need a great defense then what is so bad about trading a player to reinforce the defense/team?

The same people are saying Brady has 4-5 years left and simultaneously the defense is years away and that it's a team game.  Well then.

31 teams should probably know what they can get for their QBs.  I guarantee despite all the MVP talk yadda yadda Philly is having a much needed discussion about what to do with Vick right now.
