Or the Steelers

Baku, I know you usually watch Patriots games. If you go back to the last post I made in this thread, do you have any idea what I saw there? I've been thinking about it all game.

I believe so, actually ... I would guess it was smelling salts, as many players use them during games. Brett Favre is famous for always using them, and they put them in a cup because they're outside, and if not in a cup, they would diffuse too quickly. It justs gives them a jolt of awareness and helps to clear their head, especially after a hard hit. Hope that helps. :)

I would be ok with the Bears winning too.  I guess I don't want either of the AFC teams winning a title this year.

Brady wasted so much time after the Pats got the ball around the 9 min mark . They were in a hurry up offense, but they would get to the line and then just wait for the play clock to run down to zero every time. It made no sense whatsoever . They needed 2 scores and were taking their time, I was screaming at the TV the whole time .

They should have spent the whole second half in the hurry up offense. It would have tired out the Jets D and spread the field .

I am so p---ed right now .

ughhhhhhh :-X

I agree, (TP) ... they should have played the 3rd quarter like it was the 4th ... there was no sense of urgency until it was really too late. They've shown in the past that they are one of the best teams to run the "Hurry-Up", yet they've seemed almost reluctant to use it of late. Very discouraging loss ... they are so much better than they played today.

You can't tire out the Jets defense. They just fake injuries to re-group on defense.

I'm rooting for a meteor now in the AFC Championship game.  Go Bears or Packers!

New England Patriot:  Three word phrase for "pretender."

The Patriots have proven that in the NFL, defense, not offense, wins titles.  The Patriots haven't been a great post-season team since they had a top defense in the early 2000's.

Go Bears!

I actually thought the Patriots' defense played their hearts out. The 28 points allowed isn't necessarily reflective of how well they played. The offense is what struggled. The Jets continually started with great field position when they did score points. And by the way, that fake punt is about as bad of a call as fourth and two.

Nevertheless though, you are right. This Pats' defense, as hard as they played, certainly isn't great.

Today the defense was good enough to win.  The offense hardly could be said to even have been on the field until the 3rd quarter was almost over.  That's why the Patriots lost.

However, the Patriots' defense was never good enough to win them games on their own.  Great teams tend to have game-winning defensive capability (the Saints were an exception last year, but their offense was truly something else).
