I vaguely remember somebody suggesting that Mark Sanchez might be the best QB in the league.  What happened there?   :o

What a slaughtering. I don't even have a dog in this fight, but would rather see some kind of competition.

If he were to win the Super Bowl by outplaying all other QBs.

Is it just me, or was this a really weak year for the NFL?

The Patriots were a deeply flawed team but they managed 14 wins.  The Jets, also deeply flawed, ran over them to get to the AFC Championship...again.  The Bears made it to the NFC Championship game by beating a team that had lost more games than it had won.  The Packers, a 10 win team in the regular season, is mowing down opponents while hardly breaking a sweat.  In the AFC, the Steelers are simply the last decent team standing.

Compared to last year, when the Saints and the Colts were clearly the two best teams in the NFL and seemed destined to face each other in the Super Bowl ever since midway through the season, this year there was no clear "great" team.  Every team was quite flawed.  There hasn't been a really good game in the playoffs yet.

This is coming from a Pats fan, but all around this season was pretty boring and disappointing..

Steelers Ravens was a heck of a game and so was Seahawks Saints and Jets Colts.

I agree with everything else you've said except there have been some decent playoff games.

Seahawks vs Saints was a good game, I'll give you that.  Felt more like a "good" game because a team that was supposed to be good played down to a mediocre opponent and got beaten than anything else.  There was no defense in that game.

Jets vs. Saints did not happen in the playoffs - not sure what you're talking about.  I'm guessing you mean Jets vs. Colts.  That was a decent game, if only because it came down to a last second field goal.  It was kind of marred by the fact that the Colts were essentially Peyton Manning + the practice squad.  If the Colts were even at 50% they would have beaten the Jets.

Steelers vs. Ravens was an okay game, but what I saw of it was notable more for the mistakes and sloppy play by each side than anything else.  I remember thinking at the time, "I hope the Steelers win because they look ready to get beaten by the Patriots."  Of course, we all know how that turned out...meh.

I meant Jets Colts lol.  The Jets Colts game and Steelers Ravens were really only good once it got down to crunch time.

'08 seemed the same way with the Steelers.  Best team out of a mediocre bunch of teams.  Lets hope this year though that it's the Pack who is the best team out of a bunch of other mediocre once.

I remember people saying Urlacher was a great LB.  He's still 4 Super Bowl appearances and 3 wins behind Bruschi but he does have more video game covers

Swap Bruschi with Urlacher on the Bears, and we'll see how many Super Bowl appearances he has.  You seem to have, once again, forgotten that a football team has 53 players, including 11 starters each on offense and defense.

Urlacher is a much better player than Bruschi.  Your timing is odd, after Urlacher just had a tremendous game (sack, interception, bunch of tackles) and is going off a Pro Bowl season.
