Kobe needs size to make the playoffs.
Everyone does realy.

Some players just have the size already built in, thus become more important.   ;)

Are you trying to say being tall is an advantage in playing basketball? Surely not!  :o

Jordan didn't.  He was always playing 8-on-5

They can say it, but I think fewer people will believe it.  Kobe, when surrounded by a less-than-stellar surrounding cast, was missing the playoffs.  In his prime, Shaq's teams were pretty much a contender every year of his career.

I think "less-than-stellar" is giving that supporting cast that missed the playoffs too much credit. Even Shaq wasn't taking that team to the playoffs.

You mean Odom and Butler?  Is that any worse then Cassel and Spree that KG pulled to the  best record in the West?
The Lakers were 24-19 when Rudy T went out with his illness and they brought in Frank Hamblen to finish out the season and he went a totally awesome 10-29.  It also doesn't help that Odom played 64 games and Kobe only played 66 games.  The Lakers were 19-15 when Kobe got hurt, lost Rudy T before Kobe came back, and the team and Kobe just weren't the same down the stretch (which included almost all of Odom's missed time).

KG's inability, in his prime, to take the reins in crunch time consistently on offense will always put him a notch below Kobe in their respective primes, IMO. Kobe is every bit the defender that KG is at their respective positions and passer as well. Kobe is a much, much better scorer obviously.

For the Kobe/Shaq debate, in his prime, Shaq was more dominant. But by the end of his career, Kobe will have had a better career than Shaq. (Same for Tim Duncan, IMO).

The best players of the last decade, IMO.

1. Shaq
2. Kobe
3. Tim Duncan
4. KG

How is Duncan worse than Kobe?
Duncan won a title with a 37 year old David Robinson and a 20 year old Tony Parker.  Tim Duncan has gotten as close as winning a title by himself as anyone ever. And he won 4 titles without EVER playing with anyone as good as Pau Gasol or Shaq in their primes.

So? He'll finish a lot higher on the career scoring chart than he will on the best players ever list unless he figures out how to score -2000 points or so before he retires.

No.  We are Celtic fans.  We do not like Lakers.

Kobe just makes it easy for us.

Plus, I always take the big man over the SG with the exception of Jordon.

Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.
