If you had to choose, would you rather keep Perk or BBD?

This is inspired by some of the discussions regarding Perk's free agency. I saw some people saying that Danny would probably just keep one of them. If so, who would you rather have as Rondo's sidekick come the post big three era? Personally, I'd go with Perk.

Perkins, although its closer than it would've been last year, even with all the baby hate goin on because of some pretty inconsistent play.

Interesting dilemma.

I'd probably say Perk, but it all depends on the other bigs we have. Next year we will have KG, Shaq, JO, Erden, and Harangody if he counts. With that group, BBD makes more sense.

Unfortunately, I think these forums are convincing me to hold out for the free agency of 2012. If that's the case, I let them both go if they won't stay here for an overpaid season (or less depending on the lockout).

I really don't know who I would want. They are polar opposites in every way (for guys that play nearly the same position).

But we need to see a few things before Ainge would ever have to pick. Is Perk the same? Is BBD more like how he started the season or how he is playing now? Can JO play PF?

How much $$$? It comes down to that.

Also, Baby can contribute, but even if we keep him, we could still move him. He is not a guy you worry about holding on to past our window to win it all.

In fact, I expect that we can easily replace him this offseason with our MLE since PF would be the only position we would really need to man if Quis is solid this season and is kept. With the ability to keep Nate and West and with Bradley under contract, we are set in the backcourt.

With JO and Shaq only getting older, we definitely need another reliable center for next season. It would be nice to still have Perk.

If we win it all this year with a team that enjoys one another so much, we would also be a top choice for an old PF who is willing to money on the table for one last hurrah with KG, Ray, Pierce, Shaq, and JO.

I had to read each post to make sure nobody had lost their mind, but I do expect a couple sleep-deprived LSU fans to throw some love to Davis.

I'd give Perk $10 per year before I'd give BBD anymore than he earns now. Perk is irreplaceable. Let alone what bigs are here next season, b/c Shaq would be on his last leg, JO playing half the season, and Semih being his usual.

BBD is not as dependable as we hope. When his bunny hop 10-12 foot jumper is falling, or his rolling towards the basket and not getting stuffed, and he's taking charges, Davis is great. That's 20mpg or less. Keep him in for 30+ minutes, and all of a sudden he thinks he's Ray Allen hanging behind the arc for 3.

Let KG and Perk come back. Field some offers for Davis. See how the chemistry works with our starters and Shaq/JO holding down the paint. Trade him a week before the deadline. Get a player like Landry,Thompson, etc

BBD will be cheaper but probably neither will be worth the lost cap space.

Kendrick is an interesting player. In half of the basketball categories, he's a B+ player. In the other half he's a D+ player.

Davis tends to be a B- player all around. Davis is also already more of an impact player, but Kendrick is so good at his role...tough choice.

The question is this: do we need more than just defense once Ray and Paul can't score 19 a piece anymore? I think yes.

Plus, Baby shows the propensity to evolve as a player and person much faster than Perkins. I don't know if Perkins will ever develop any sort of go-to offense.
