Duncan has been pretty much a non-factor in this one so far.
Ginobili has been quiet too.

I doubt the Spurs freakishly hot jump shooting continues in the second half.

They are going to need to get Manu going.

that is why RONDO is so much better a pg than parker, does parker ever pass..? PP..!

Agreed, but rondo still needs to shoot a little more when they are off him by 10 feet or more

I agree..!  his shooting is looking good too, much better, now if only someone would rebound his shot. (or just follow to see if he misses or not!).

As long as they win I am happy, but without kg and perk the rebounding is really bad. Holding their own tonight without kg, which surprises me. Bench unit was awful after nate's two hoops and put them in a hole.

Dang it.  We're seeing the return of Black Hole Davis.

I'm not a big fan.

You're seeing him being the one left wide open because everyone else is covered because Rondo doesn't have to be guarded.  They're giving Glen that shot.  Can't blame him.  Blame Rondo for not being a threat.
Yeah, Glen is going to have to take a lot of shots tonight.

That is what the defense is giving up and BBD is a solid midrange shooter.

Needs to mix it up a tiny bit more. Someone needs to help him get an easier shot near the rim ... help get that jumper going.

BBD is about a 40% jump shooter, maybe a little less.  Even when he's wide open, I've got to think that there are higher percentage shots than a 15-to-18 footer.

If BBD actually passed a bit, it would make the offense a lot more versatile.  If he feels the unquenchable need to lead the team in shot attempts, he should at least take higher percentage shots down low when guarded by Bonner (like he did a few minutes ago).

Basically, just because you're open doesn't mean you need to shoot.  BBD misses that shot about 60% of the time.

That doesn't change the fact that he's the one they're leaving open.  He does pass, but a lot of times when he gets the ball back, it's at a point where he has to shoot it or create a 3 second violation or pass it to someone with only seconds left, then you'd be screaming at him because he didn't take the shot.

But leaving him open doesn't change his jump shot %.. which is lower than what the celtics shoot as a team for the season.  Therefore, regardless of outcome, it should statistically make sense for Davis to pass and go set a pick or something.  He needs to help create ball movement.

If he's getting wide open jumpers then he should at least take the ball to the hoop.. not just take what's given to him.  Get more!

Boxscore says:

Glen Davis:  4 for 9
Other 4 starters:  14 for 19

I say get more shots for the other starters.

The Spurs are so potent offensively.  Duncan and Dice are hitting the mid-range J, Parker finishing around the O'Neals, Bonner and Neal killing bench level defenders...

Our own offense is much less potent with Baby shooting instead of KG.

Doc's said so himself about getting back on defense. You can also watch the entire team consistently get back in transition rather than crash the glass. Do you think the Celtics players all just ignore their coaches?

Your appeal you to your "playing authority" didn't impress me the first time you said it, and it doesn't now. It really isn't relevant to the discussion.

I have nothing against rebounding. Crashing the offensive glass without care for the team's scheme won't help the team, even if it does get a few extra possessions.

Exactly.  A jumper by a wide-open BBD is still statistically less efficient than moving the ball and getting a shot for one of our other starters.

I understood Kevin McHale being a black hole and a ball stopper.  I don't get that with BBD.  He's a capable passer (8 assists the other night) but he refuses to do it (2 or fewer assists in 31 of 33 games this season, and 1 or fewer assists in 22 of those games).

iyt isn't about me, what I only mean is ask a player how they love a rebounder, always giving second chances to their team, causing the other team to foul the guy who got the rebound, that is my point.

Enough bickering.  There's no need for in-fighting in the game threads.
