Baby is always workin' on something, there's no doubt about that. Everything he does wrong seems to get corrected pretty quickly.
It just goes to show how versatile he is and that, yes, he is able to make 10 or 11 rebounds and 8 assists, 2 steals and 14 (?) points all while playing his normal game. I think all the players play differently with each other and the key is finding that magic ingredient that works during certain stretches. That works consistently.
Even though Baby wasn't shooting as well as normal tonight, the final effect was positive.

Dear Baby,

Please take 2 steps in on offense.

Thanks,

Baby did his best Zach Randolph impression yesterday.  It was atrocious.

Randolph almost always gives you 10+ rebounds, some games Davis doesn't hit the defensive boards. not saying i even remotely like Randolph, just that hes a more consistent rebounded.

I didn't think he did so well defensively last night...took his time getting back down the court.  When you are outhustled by shaq and JO, that says something...and rebounds?

I agree absolutely and wha I am saying it just based on his overall carrer. This days Randolph is playing good on both wnds too, so baby will be under Zach in every single category

Actually BBD is a very poors man Zach

I like that Davis opted to pass more, but he still isn't shoot too well.  His shots should continue to go to other players if he keeps up this fg% slide.

But that doesn't really bug me, and I'm glad he passed.  However, his defense seemed quite bad yesterday.  It just frustrates me when I watch him make a nice jumper then give up a wide open 3-pointer on the other end b/c he forgot to rotate.  After watching him miss several good rebounding opportunities by standing under the hoop, I was surprised he still got 11 rebounds.  I hope Davis keeps up the effort on the glass and works on really boxing people out (and away from the hoop).

He took a VERY BAD shot against the Hornets that might have cost us the game.  Who knows what ramficiations that will have when the season ends and the seedings are set.  But for one play he goes to the bottom?

For all those people dumping on Marquis earlier this year, is he still on the bottom now?

Just had a thought.  Anyone else think Baby might be working on his range?  A lot of his shots have seemingly been out of his range and up to a few games ago he was making those shots.  I just remember a couple of years ago when fans were hating on him for taking all those jumpers in the regular season.  Then we find out Doc wanted him taking those jumpers and it paid off in the postseason.

I just wonder if he is working on his range.  I know some of the shots have been bad, but for the most part, they have been good shots in the flow, he's just seemingly taking too many long range ones.  It just seems that every year he is working on something.
I think other teams in the league are doing a better job of pushing him off of his spots. Forcing him deeper to take his jump shots.

When Davis is playing with confidence he can be amazing.  As to his passing, though, there seems to be a hesitation, even when a man is free in his line of vision...almost like he can't decide whether to shoot or pass, and I panic every time he does it.  Just pass the ball.  If the guy is covered, he will probably pass it back, lol.  Don't think so hard.  The hesitation gives the other team to cover the open man, and to cover you!  Opportunity lost.

The secreto to BBD succes is to get the ball and get rid of it fast, attacking  the basket or shooting with confidence.
As long as he try to do the complicated play he fails miserable.
Hes just too slow and short to make it happend

I think Baby had a perfect storm of over confidence. The factors:

1) He'd filled in for KG before, and hit one of the most famous shots of the last 5 years in the playoffs, and exceeded most if not all expectations.

2) He came up big a few times in the playoffs last season.

3) He worked his butt off this past offseason to get better, and it has showed.

4) He's been having his best season as a pro so far this year, and has been mentioned in all the "sixth man" debates.

All those factors combined equaled hubris.

Nope.  I thought PP was more of a reason for the loss than Davis.  PP did absolutely nothing in the 4th quarter to bring home the win.  He admitted as much, saying he "didn't come to play."  Davis at least tried, but failed miserably.  He's not KG or the superstar Pierce is.  Pierce was supposed to step up.

Doc was extremely upset with BBD's decision making.  There's no real need to defend him; he just needs to learn from it, and move on.  His head was totally out of the game today (yesterday).
Nope, but there is also no need to throw him under the bus after one bad game. That's all I was trying to say.
