well its about time Wafer is getting love on here... Doc needs to seriously bench Nate Robinson he's not a point guard. New bench for now should be...

Wafer = guards the other team point or 2 guard
Daniels = guards the other team point, small-forward or 2 guard
Harangody = Sf or Pf
Davis
J.O.

Daniels run the point ;)

Your idea would work if Harangody were a better SF than Nate Robinson is a PG.  I'm pretty sure the opposite is true by a wide margin.

Even more significantly, if Quis is the PG, why not Nate at 2 and Wafer at 3? On defense, Nate will D the PG, but Quis can run the offense with Nate doing what is more natural to him.

Why play Harangody out of position when you can keep people at their actual positions? And with the 2 O'Neals manning the center position, we needed Luke at the 4 behind Baby with KG out, not at the 3.

Nate, Delonte, Daniels, Davis, O'Neal

Delonte and Daniels are primary ball handlers... boy i really can't wait for this lineup to to come back.

But for now i'll take Nate/Wafer/Daniels/Davis/J.O.

with Daniels running the point.

Von Wafer is now able to get playing time because D.West is out and I imagine that has given him confidence. I was pleased with him last night. He's getting better and more confident.

I've been on his case since his first minutes in green.
If he keeps his mouth shut, doesn't fight with teammates and plays as well as he has the last 2 or 3 games I have no problem with him being on bench.  He has taken any minutes that Bradley would have gotten away from him with better play (on both ends)
Maybe Delonte just needs to take his meds. If delonte punked me like he did Wafer Id still be kicking his but!

I, too, have been pleasantly surprised by Von Wafer's play as of late. Especially on defense actually (where I didn't think he "had" it) because his shot is still not falling. I would like to see him attack the rim more since he's really efficient in the paint.

West injury did open up minutes, yet Doc still didn't play Wafer much early on because he wasn't comfortable yet in our system.

Wafer would get only 2 minutes at a time and it seemed only in the first half, which is Doc's standard operating procedure with guys he doesn't trust..

He looks good now. He was even better tonight.

When West comes back, we will have too many guys for Wafer, Nate, Delonte and Quis to all get minutes nightly barring injury.

When West comes back, I wouldn't be surprised if he has to play himself into consideration for the rotation the way guys like Tony Allen and Marquis Daniels have had to do in the past rather than be automatically re-inserted back into his old role.

He does look good. He's very quick and is pretty good at driving to the hoop.  Which is what this team needs a little more of with a lot of jump shooters.

Nate might need to show a little more because he could be in danger of losing minutes to a West-Wafer-Quis trio.

Anyone else have a growing confidence in Von Wafer?

Always thought he could be a steal of a signing by Danny after seeing how he played two years ago and wanted him since.

I haven't had a good feeling about him all season, but he did step up today. If he's earning the minutes, then play him, but I still will feel a lot better when Delonte is back.

  • Rondo = Good
If he can consistently play defense and start hitting outside shots (the latter is what we got him to do in the first place, after all), then he'll carve a spot for himself in the rotation.

I literally forgot Delonte was on the Celtics again. Sad.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

Looked like the most athletic guy on the team tonight.  Excellent work on the boards, in the passing lanes and off the drive to make up for his still MIA J.

Von/Daniels looks like our best back-up back-court right now.

I know Doc likes the 5 man bench to start the 2nd quarter, but when he keeps Paul or Ray with the 2nd unit I'd go for Daniels/Wafer/Pierce/Gody/JO.  I like that squads rebounding and defensive ability and I think they could exploit mismatches effectively through Daniels and Pierce.
