Anyone else have a growing confidence in Von Wafer?

He has started to look much more comfortable and the Celtics have taught him to play defense. Is I type this, he just stole the ball from his man in the lane after running hard to recover from going over a pick. He followed it up with a good pass to JO. Next offensive possession he had a nice score inside off of an offensive rebound and then had a great challenge on a quick Jack jumper.

Wafer was clearly not up to snuff when he first got here and look awkward getting adjusted to the system. He probably doesn't have the highest basketball IQ, but he seems to be figuring it out and he has always had the ability to score.

TP, I agree 110%!
"The emblem of a warrior, it's the swagger of an athlete, a champion and dynasty, it's gifted, golden, genuine and glorious. It is a lower-case god. It's the goat. The greatest of all time. What's G? It is the heart, hustle and soul of the game."

Crispy is doing a lot better.. He still needs some time but I think we'll get even more out of him soon.

His passing off the dribble has been surprisingly good (his entry passes leave much to be desired).  His defense is still sketchy but the energy is there now.  His athleticism has shown on the boards in recent action.

But that J is still completely MIA.  Needs to hit shots to be on the floor.

I'm starting to like what i'm seeing out there. And that's coming from a guy who's openly hated the fact that he's even here. Von seems to have dedicated himself to the defensive side of the ball AND he is a natural scorer, so once he earned the teams trust the shots will really start falling.

Daniels, Wafer, Pierce, Harangody, O'Neal was the lineup of the night. That's promising for the future.

On another note: If Rondo misses anymore time i'd like to see Daniels start at the PG, he understands how to run the offense much better than Nate... no disrespect to Robinson he's just a scorer.

I've been on his case since his first minutes in green.
If he keeps his mouth shut, doesn't fight with teammates and plays as well as he has the last 2 or 3 games I have no problem with him being on bench.  He has taken any minutes that Bradley would have gotten away from him with better play (on both ends)

I’m thoroughly convinced that Waver can be a productive contributor for the club. He seems to be able to create his own shot, play solid defense, and hit the occasional three. He just needs more minutes.

well its about time Wafer is getting love on here... Doc needs to seriously bench Nate Robinson he's not a point guard. New bench for now should be...

Wafer = guards the other team point or 2 guard
Daniels = guards the other team point, small-forward or 2 guard
Harangody = Sf or Pf
Davis
J.O.

Daniels run the point ;)

I like Wafer's hustle, and a he's nice at getting to the rim wish we would go to it more.

Von Wafer is here for one reason - he provides a perimeter scoring punch that the bench lacked last year and that we needed desperately in the 4th quarter of game 7 - yes, he needs to be a decent defender (defense is always 1st with this team) - but i hope as he gets more comfortable, his shot will start to fall.

Wafer has looked better than I originally predicted for him.

Therefore, I am left with no other choice than to not believe in him and condemn him to the 7th ring of cb hell.  ;D

Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.
