as much as i like sheed and appreciate his effort in the Finals, but what happens when JO and Perk comes back? hows the rotation going to be

KG/JO?
Shaq/Perk/Sheed?

what happens to BBD

I mean Perk might not be a 100%, but hows that compare to JO when he comes back?

will BBD play SF instead? No hes slow vs other SFs (Lebron, Melo, etc)

I mean Im not Doc, I dont know what he will plan but with Sheed back with us, there will be minute issues and rotation issues? Unless you just divide 15 minutes each, or just whos hotter that night gets more minutes
I really don't think we are going to get much from JO this year.  If the guy has a hangnail, he either sits out or plays and stinks up the court.  What he did against us in the playoffs is about what I expect this year from him.

I agree....I wouldn't mind having him on the bench...especially if JO continues to spend his MLE money trying to get an appointment with all the doctors on the east coast.

Count me on the Rasheed Wallace Bandwagon - but only in the event of either Shaq or JO going down for a significant amount of time (God Forbid).

If this happens, I'm hoping that the extended amount of time from basketball would've healed his back. And I'm also hoping that he's been able to keep himself in shape.

My gut feeling though? Sheed is done, for good. These appearances of his is just a way to stay connected to the game.

BUT - You never know.

Like BFM and Xmuscular stated - That Game 7 VS Gasol in the post sold me on Sheed's worth. He also played well in sealing CLE (and Lebron's fate) in our CLE series last year. Such a valiant (and Celtic-Like) effort from him.

If our current Big tandem can stay healthy? No thanks. The way that Glen has played this season, I don't want to see his minutes cut. He's been playing quite well.

I think the bad back is the point. It is evidence that he might be washed up. He may not be able to get into condition again. He was barely in playing shape last season.

How many games does Sheed go to? How often is he around the team these days? I find that interesting.

I am fine with him trying to get into shape since they guy is a good matchup defensively against some teams. He would be our 6th big man though behind KG, Shaq, BBD, Perk and JO, assuming JO ever plays.

Erden could get his surgery and get ready for next year.

I like how sheed played in the finals but I am not so sure we need him right now.  I rather see what happens when Perk and JO are healthy.  Sheed could upset a pretty delicate balancing act Doc is pulling off with his big man rotation and impair Erdin's and even BBD's development.  If we were having serious problems defending down low, maybe, but we are getting by and we already and sheed wont want to play until around February...so lets talk to him then.

The first thing I thought:  Rasheed and Scally are good friends?!  LOL

Secondly, I hope he comes back to the Celtics.  If he went to Chicago he'd fit right in there and could create some problems in the playoffs.

With J.O.'s health in question and Shaq always capable of getting hurt, he'd be quality depth that is familiar with the system and players.

If we got 'sheed back I'd say the pecking order for centers would be:

Shaq, Perkins, Rasheed, Davis, Jermaine, Semih.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
If we signed on Sheed and lost Semih (which is the only logical thing to do...if its a wing, Wafer goes, or Harangody..if its a center, its semih), I'd hope Sheed doesn't play much. He'd be better than Semih, but he wouldn't be 15 mins a night good, and he wouldn't need to be.

I'd be fine with that.

Eh, not worth the chemistry disruption potential. If Shaq or Jermaine went down for good, I'd strongly consider it.

The way I see it, we already have 4 guys on the roster that are exclusively centers: JO, Shaq, Semih, and Perkins. Sheed would also be in that group.

Lol **** I love that scal nba live 2010 cover haha. That's great. Still I disagree with you. I want Sheed bc we need to win now. We were 6 minutes from winning a Championship last year and we didn't because Shelden Williams had to play meaningful minutes. Cut Harangody if you have to but I want Sheed playing meaningful minutes before Erden. Could Perk not come back and play solid this year? Yes. Are both the O'neals injury prone? You bet. Is there a better FA big then Sheed? I dont think so... We are a team dominating up front this year, so we can't have enough battle tested bigs. Plus his Defense on Dwight Howard is second only to Perks. If Perk isn't right Howard could give both the Oneals and us issues. If Perk is right well some extra back up can't hurt when playing Howard and then Gasol.

I think Sheed decided to retire because he was saturated, but I think he is already starting to feel like playing again.
Perk is a mystery for his injury,Jermaine has knee problems and Shaq can be injured at any time (hopefully not), for all this,Need for Sheed.

Rasheed Wallace could get a job in the NBA as a player for a team if he wanted it that badly, i just think its Rasheed being Rasheed.

Allthough i would love to see him back for the playoffs i just dont see it happening.

Of course its Rasheed being Rasheed.  He was joking around.  If he actually wanted to come back, he wouldn't be doing that.

I really wish this Sheed stuff would go away.
