Rondo outplayed him last night.

But they could well face each other in another 7-game playoff series.  Rondo's only 24, but Rose is only 22--and seems healthier this year.  Let's hope they're battling each other for another dozen years.

The +29, -29 tells the whole story.

Rose has no clue how to set up his guys at this point, most of his passes are bailout passes because he is out of scoring position.

Two very different players ... one is primarily a scorer, the other a facilitator. I think Rondo's scoring ability will come ahead faster than Rose's assist rate. I'm much happier with Rondo, personally, than I would be with Rose.

TP,as i agree with what you saying but i feel before they can get better he has to develop how to set Boozer up with the pick n roll game similar to what Boozer had with D.Williams in Utah.Theres room for him to learn his role as a good facilator and be a decent scorer too.Chemistry has to be established between he and Boozer if they are planning to be successful down the road. The question will be can Rose diversify his game enough to keep everyone in the game.Whereas Rondo has had the pass first, shoot second mentality for awhile. There are some players that don't adjust to becoming that pg who can do all the things it takes to keep his team involved in the offense.

Yup.  Not a whole lot of teams have won it all with a "score first" point guard.

Actually, have any?
Yup

This.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

When I think back in recent NBA history, the only one I can think of is Tony Parker when he won the finals MVP in 2007... he played outstanding. However, he still had Duncan and Manu. Billups made huge shots in '04 but I wouldn't consider him score first. So the closest case you can make in the last 10 years is probably Parker.

Billups is definitely a shoot first point guard.  The guy is a chucker.

I've taught players how to shoot before well.  Its hard to teach basketball IQ either they have it or they don't.   Therefore, Rondo has more upside than Rose, IMHO.

Two completely different players. The +/- has just about as much to do with the different teams as it does anything. Rose is phenomenal, don't kid yourselves.

He's inefficient - he scores because he's the only one on his team who can reliably create his own shot (that may change now with Boozer).  He averages 25 points, but he does it on 21 shots, and he hasn't learned how to get to the line regularly yet (although I think that will come).

He's quite a bit overrated in my opinion, but he'll get there.
