watching a replay of tonights game, man isnt it nice to see we seem to all be clicking really well? given a injury setback to Rondo sitting I dont see our starting 5 dropping anymore games anytime soon. ill be honest i thought we were up for a stinker for tonights game but no way we are to focused rigt now.

so nice to see our defense stifling again and as always of course that leads to offense. our ball movement as well has been so crisp. some thoughts on our starters and recent games and play:

shaq has been excellent and then some, easy baskets, giving hard fouls moving on defense etc

pierce is energized and is looking really spry, he's taking advantage this point in his career and knows whats at stake

rondo as doc always puts has just been simply phenomenal

ray is just ray like fine wine, seems to get better and more clutch with age

as far as KG look out league because Da Kid is back

Completely agree, (TP) ... we are the team to beat in the East, and (I believe) in the NBA. Can't wait to play the Lakers, Spurs, etc. - those games will be a good indication. (Get ready for the inevitable "reality checks" that come with all optimistic posts, though ;)).

Ah, what a wonderfull day to be on Celticsblog! so much optimism and joy, not a single Miami Heat topic in the latest forum topics, everything is perfect.

Alas, you know its an illusion as when we drop a single game then the 8 headed patino hydra comes back out of its cave with a basket full of "those" threads (you know witch ones im talking about)

But that is not this day, no for today we bath in the glory of victory over a meaningfull oponent, today is a good day.

yes this a joke, take with a smile :)

I was especially impressed with the way the whole team jumped in and attacked like Doc wanted them to in the early second half. Going to the rim and pushing the ball with our passers and shooters is really difficult to defend.

The ball movement and unselfishness was so productive that you have to wonder why any team would not engage in it more. I know it is a matter of egos usually, but dont people want to win?

I know defense is the key and we shouldnt lose sight of that fact, but our offense becomes a juggernaut when these guys push the ball and attack. Listening to Doc seems so simple, I am glad we are one of the few teams that have stars listening to the coach and trusting his system.

We are lucky I guess, I gotta put Doc up there with Jackson, Sloan, Popovich and maybe Avery Johnson as guys the players absolutely should pay attention to if they want to win. Thibs, Frank and a couple more are close but not quite there yet. No wonder the Doc to Miami rumor started.

We just showed the league how it is done against a pretty good team.

It was nice to see us attack and wear down a much younger and more athletic team. One of the things I worried about this season was how we would compete for 48 minutes against young, aggresive & energetic teams like Chicago, OKC, Memphis, etc...Looks okay for the 1st quarter of the season, even through all the injuries. Let's keep it up!

It seems to me that Baby and Nate are the two guys on their bench now who revert to individual offense, rather than team defense, too often.  They should be the leaders and more committed to D.

Playing for personal glory in the 2nd and team glory only in the 4th simply isn't good enough.  The onus for improvement is on them.  (Semih seems to try pretty evenly and just be limited by his current level of play, whereas Daniels may have intensity issues, but not selfishness issues.)

You could say there is a selfishness problem with every player at various times in a game. I don't think any one on our team has a problem with selfishness. One of the things the celtics are known and admired for is their cohesion as a team and Baby and Nate are just as much a part of that.

I disagree.  Baby and Nate are particularly prone to calling their own number early in the shot clock or getting sticky hands with the 2nd unit.  It is understandable when the other options are Marquis and Erden, but they have been guilty nonetheless.
