I think Wade could be moved, probably before Bosh. I don't think Wade's game will age well, and if this doesn't work in the next two years then I think they very well might move Wade.

This would be like if we kept Ray and KG this summer, but let Pierce walk so we could sign Rudy Gay. Never happen.

If they don't win and he his game degrades I don't think Pat Riley would hesitate to trade him.

I don't think Wade is going to age all that well, certainly not as well as KG/Pierce/Ray. Too much of his game is reliant on his quickness and athleticism.

We're agreed about the aging, but that kind of degradation is 3 years away minimum. If the Heat aren't in the Finals by year 3, they'll make a pretty big change.

You're assuming the MLE will still be around in the next labor deal. Even if the owners don't get a hard salary cap, they're going to want something.  Getting rid of the MLE would really put downward pressure on the contracts for the bottom half of the talent pool.

Another large factor is what does LeBron think at that point? If you're going to breakup the LeBron/Wade/Bosh trio you need to have him on board for it.

There is potentially a pretty huge difference between what Ainge, Perkins, and we as fans consider 'plenty of money', respectively.

Brendan Haywood just signed a 6 year 55 million (9.1 per if split evenly) contract with Dallas to be their starting center (although he's the backup now), and Perkins is a better defender than Haywood.

Is there any chance at all that Perkins gets that 9 million per plus figure? I doubt it. Does Perkins think he deserves it? I would not be surprised.

So if Danny starts out saying "4 years, 16 million" because of the economy and the new CBA and the lunar cycle blah blah blah...and Perkins just gets mad about it (which we've seen happen with both Leon and Tony)..taking the MLE with a competitor isn't out of the realm of possibility.

I don't think this is a given.  I think Danny could see Perk as a career roleplayer, who will be exploited, and whose value is going to go down significantly when he is not protected by playing with 4 All-stars.  

He may not want to take away his flexibility once Allen and KG come off the books in a couple years for a guy he doesn't see as a true building block.

Now, I would be surprised if he is not willing to go over the MLE on Perk, but I still think this is a possibility, and I also think we have to be prepared for anything with the new CBA going into place.  

Danny has shown in the past that he does not like to overpay for his own free agents, and he also does not like to overpay for roleplayers.  We could very well see him set a relatively low value for Perk, and could let him walk.

...although I do think if Perk walks, Danny will do whatever he can to turn it into a sign and trade.

Wade is going to age quickly, he plays with abandon and is always getting hurt. 

As bad as Bron is, I don't think that pile of dog doo doo is going to get him.  His stock has to be going down league wide with every loss and classless act he does though but it ain't that low.
