I dont know anymore. It seems everygame i see this happening. I uploaded the footage of the Anthony Parker 3 pointer proving it should and did count(even though against us), but it shows the horrible referees in the NBA. Now on to Rondo...

The score is 106-97, right as the Heat begin to make a small comeback. Ill post the Ray Allen dunk attempt in which he got utterly destroyed on later. Watch the ref closely.. Also watch as Rondo passes it to Garnett, Garnett gets the ball does a small move and then passes it quickly back to Rondo. You can see the dumb ref hesitate for a second to blow the whistle. Then Rondo has the ball for maybe half a second and ref suddenly blows the whistle for a 3 second call  >:(. Unreal. Rondo had the ball for maybe a second and this ref blatantly calls 3 seconds. How do you stop this?

I now see that the call may have been on Garnett. Horrible call non the less. Was he even entirely in the paint, was he even in the paint after three seconds?

That is a baffling call.
2025 Draft: Chicago Bulls

PG: Chauncey Billups/Deron Williams
SG: Kobe Bryant/Eric Gordon
SF: Jimmy Butler/Danny Granger/Danilo Gallinari
PF: Al Horford/Zion Williamson
C: Yao Ming/Pau Gasol/Tyson Chandler

That's the correct call. Garnett was within the paint for over 3 seconds. Maybe you shouldn't always be thinking about how the refs stink / are making the Celtics lose on purpose and just enjoy this team and focus on how they are playing.

The call is on KG.  He is in the key for more than 3 seconds without attempting a shot, and the 3 seconds elapse before he passes the ball to Rondo.  No phantom call there

I don't think the refs are trying to hurt to the Celtics more like they want to help the Heat. Regardless the officiating is terrible. Mistakes happen but they don't call the game consistently.

If the player has one foot out of the paint doesn't that reset the 3 seconds?  Or do you have to have both feet out of the paint?

Cause KG definetly stepped out of the paint within 3 seconds.

You have to have both feet outside the paint. KG does not get completely out of the paint and is there for about 4 seconds. That was the correct call.

he clearly gets out of the paint before 3 seconds and the ref even calls the 3 second when he is out of the paint... i dont see your point here...

you dont have to have both feet planted just that none r in the paint therefore it was the wrong call.. and i believe they called another 3 second on KG earlier that game and i rewinded it and KG had both out that time as well. i think it's just that the refs were trying to help the heat a little too much

Three seconds is probably officiated differently than what is written in the rule book.  KG was technically in the paint for about three seconds.  But you'll rarely see it called that way.  Basically, once a guy has been in the paint for about three seconds, he better shoot it because even if he passes it out of the paint, the refs likely will call three seconds.

In this case, KG was in the paint (at least one foot), and rather than shoot, he passed.  That pretty much constitutes three seconds.

I wasn't clear on this rule until now...but I think Fafnir is right.

i made that known in the description that it may have been called on Garnett, i now see the ref holding up his hand and signaling Garnett.

Whats funny is i still think Garnett got out in time, and if it was indeed 3 seconds the ref should have signaled it immediately with garnett still with the ball, reguardless he was out of the paint when he called it. Still think it was the incorrect call.

Although, i was under the impression based on the announcer and the reaction by rondo and camera shot that it was rondo with the violation
