I beleive at some point our forgotten first round draft pick, Avery Bradley, will be healthy and ready to play. That means Von Wafer the last guy to make the team will be waived. I think that roster spot will be used on another big man because as much as I like erden I can't see Doc trusting him in the playoffs. I think we will bring back Sheed adding him to the fold with KG, Baby, Perk, Shaq, and JO. This addition might form the greatest front line depth and versatility the Nba playoffs has ever seen.

I'll take him as a fith or sixth  big man. He played great defense on Howard last year in the playoffs. Actually he has always played great D on Howard, he owned him in Detroit. And Let's be honest based on matchups Orlando is our toughest competitor if Perk isn't able to return to full speed. At this point asking the O'Neals to guard Dwight is folly.

Perk is the biggest reason we have owned Orlando. The ability to guard Howard one one one destroys the Magic's offense.

Who knows?  Some veteran's going to get bought out in February, it happens every year.  Doubt Wafer makes it that long, I wouldn't be surprised to see us grab someone.  Could be convincing 'Sheed to come out of retirement, if The Brothers O'Neil are still hurting.  Could be a backup wing.  Sometimes it works (PJ), sometimes it doesn't (Finley).  Too early to tell, though.

Good point. But the fact that Sheed was around for open practice and also Pierce sounding like it was a sure thing makes me wonder... Under the table stuff goes on. I have a feeling Doc and the gang are staying in touch with him, letting him know he is wanted.

Still to your point an injury could switch up the team's priorities a bit.

It's really wouldn't be surprising to see him come back.  What would be surprising is if he came back in really good shape.  The thing is Perkins is still very much a question mark and the Oneal's are shaky at best so keeping tabs on Sheed is what great GMs do.

Plus Sheed seems like the kind of guy that would have no problem playing 10 minutes a game.  I think he just likes hanging with the Big 3 and Shaq.

The bigger concern with bringing Sheed back might be with the new NBA rules in place would it be worth taking the risk with him not being able to adjust.Remember, his main reason for coming back would be to help in the playoffs and thats where they don't need a lot of techs.happening.IMO

Didn't we beat the Magic and lose to the Lakers last season?

If you thought Sheed was out of shape last year.....

Yeah, I don't see this happening.  And can't say I would want him. I think our chemistry is better without him, so long as Shaq can get healthy and Perk can return. If Perk is slow to get back, then sign me up.

I would take Sheed back. JO could be out periodically with knee arthritis. Shaq is banged up already. Perk's ability to regain his form is up in the air considering his injury was worse than KG's.

Sheed will be a good 10-15 minute backup center option if Erden can't do it up

I'd say if Erden keeps getting 10-12 minutes/night, he'll be looking really good by February/March, and the O'Neal's minutes will have been kept down (especially w/BBD getting some minutes at the 5 as well).  No need to haul Sheed's fat ass in off his Barcalounger.

First, Let me confess:  I am a big Rasheed Wallace fan.  I know Sheed can do stupid, infuriating things but I just love the guys game.

IF this is true, I would take Sheed in a second, bc the one thing that Sheed can do that most bigs in the NBA cannot is that he can guard any big man.  Sheed is strong and quick enough to handle many of the leagues big men.  SO yeah, another guy who can guard bigs, thats fine with me.

But I would not dump Erden bc he has potential.
