My intuition is that if the media keeps flailing along with this story then KG and Charlie will do a ceremonial hug at center court next time they play each other, just an attempt to shut everyone up.
Players can say whatever the heck they want. Leave them alone. And tweeting what goes on the court is a pretty big sin imo. It's true, once it's out there, people can talk about it if they want, but people (imo) should also realize when something has left private territory in a not-so-ideal way, and let silence rule the day in such cases. If, for no other reason than to do the opposite of enabling the media to get its dirty hands on this or that.
I don't love trash talking, but it's none of my business. I'll just say I hope a high percentage of new players understand they don't have to conform with the Uber-trash talkers of the league. I hope the NBA remains a place where a player can come in and be as silent as he wishes. A whole nuther topic.
It's pretty clear the world will blow up or big brother will complete his takeover at the peak of some giant "scandal" along these lines.
I'm trying to remember the Charlie Chaplin quote: butchered version: Man as an individual is a genius. It's humanity in mass that's a great idiot who can be poked and prodded any which way.
