While I doubt this happened, if you're Von Wafer, on a non-guaranteed contract, and you're having trouble getting playing time with West suspended, do you try and get into his head and get him bounced from the team?

Here's my thoughts:
I am not going to comment unless true facts are given
I hate Von Wafer
Delonte and the gun thing lastyear makes me very wary of any issues
I dislike Von Wafer
If Wafer did bring up medication he deserved the punch
I wish Von Wafer wasn't on our team
If Delonte continually goes after Von in practice isn't it up to coaches to speak to team/seperate them/ end the foolishness
I don't like Von Wafer's attitude
I think we need delonte more than wafer but again what are the facts?  A healthy Bradley can help us.  And finally we don't need the attitude issues from either guy.  Danny & Doc if you can't get to the base issue don't hesistate to release both of them!

I wouldn't release Wafer, as much as I think he stinks, unless or until we find someone better.  He's done nothing wrong, except get under Delonte's skin. Delonte is the one that couldn't control himself, not Wafer.
I don't disagree but if (IF) it is just wafer razzing delonte about medication as the start of all this, isn't it easier to get rid of the guy that barely made team?

Danny Ainge has confirmed the incident to Steve Bulpett, and said Delonte won't get cut :

Quote
Danny Ainge confirmed there was an altercation today between Delonte West and Von Wafer, but he denied there would be any repercussions.

A report on hoopsworld.com said Ainge was considering releasing West, but the Celtics’ director of basketball operations said there is absolutely no truth to that.

“There was something that happened, and we’re handling it internally,” Ainge said moments ago. “We’re happy with Delonte and Von and how they’ve been playing, and today was unacceptable.”

West and Wafer had recently had a verbal conflict on the court at the Celtics’ practice facility, and, according to the report, such was the case again today. This time, the players threw punches later in the dressing room.

The fight was broken up by other players, and coach Doc Rivers spoke to the two.

Phew. Thank you. I knew Danny wasn't dumb enough to release him over this.

West and Wafer have a lot of animosity and this happened early, but the truth is fights in practice are relatively common in the NBA 10 minutes ago via ÜberTwitter.

Despite fight between Delonte West and Von Wafer--the second spat between two this month--BOS not expected to release West, sources say.

Ok, that squashes it for now in my mind.  Delonte is still on the team.  Now let's move on.

That is exactly what happened.

Did Lary Hughes sign  with a team ???   If not done.  Von Wafer stinks.  Evertime I see him get into his defencive stance, I say to myself does he want to get burned. UUUGGGLLLYYY !!!!!

"I did read that story and there was a lot of lies in that story," Ainge said. "Things were twisted. It’s not true. We’re not releasing Delonte. There have not been any other of these altercations that have happened this year.

"Guys trash talk and that kind of stuff by I’m not aware of any other altercation among any players at all during the course of the year. These things happen. It’s not acceptable behavior. We’ll just handle it internally and that’s it.

"Whoever wrote the story had something to get Delonte. That’s for sure. There’s some untruths in that story.

This, along with the Mannix tweet about fights happening more than people want to believe, is what I've been saying. Everything HOOPSWORLD releases is either 100% bogus or has at least one key piece of completely false information. I especially knew the stuff about Delonte "getting on everybody's nerves" was absolutely ridiculous. Like I said before, that stuff is only "reported" when something else happens to give the writer room to add it. This story from Kennedy is no different. A joke.

I still can't believe the anti-Delonte reactions from Celtics Nation today. Unbelievable.

Release the player who helps your team the least.

Von Wafer.

Who cares who started it?

2 players fighting, it's both their faults.

Release the one who's least important: Von Wafer

What kind of message would it send if we released the guy who got sucker punched (assuming it happened) while keeping the sucker puncher?  I'll tell you what kind...the wrong message.  Just can't do it.

Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce were very unhappy with the incident, especially since it occurred just hours before a game. Doc Rivers met with the players and tried smooth things over shortly after. Sources close to the situation say that the Danny Ainge and the Celtics have grown tired of West's confrontations with teammates and are considering releasing the point guard. West is on a non-guaranteed contract and his distractions could result in that deal being terminated. HoopsWorld

It's official. Delonte is the most gangsta player in the NBA.

I'm glad Delonte's sticking around.  We need to see how he can work in with our rotation.  I hope he and Wafer can stay out of it as they both seem pretty hot-headed.

I wonder who Jeff's source was who said Delonte was gone, though.

Very dissapointed in hearing this.

Even though Delonte very much can help this team with his basketball skills if he is going to be causing chemistry problems release him.

I'm hoping that the team keeps Delonte around a little longer, which it seemsl like they're doing and that West and Wafer can patch things up and keep it and use it on the court to out do each other.
