Wafer is one dimensional..and when his shot is not falling..he is pretty useless. Mario West is redundant too. There is nothing that he brings to the table.

If we could combine the two of them it’d be incredible... but like you said, both very one dimensional.

Stephane Lasme on the other hand could be our own personal “Poor Man’s Shawn Kemp”

Mario West is a decent defender...but thats it..nothing more. His offense is lacking. Bradley can pick up that assignment...so, imo, it should be game over for super Mario soon.

I think the last slot should go to whoever would work out the best as the small forward in a second-string line-up with one of the O'Neals, BBD, Delonte West, and Nate Robinson.

With that foursome, what skill set are you looking for in a back-up 3?  Is it more important to have a perimeter shooter or a perimeter defender?  Are you willing to give up a bit of shooting or on-the-ball defense in order to have a better rebounder in the lineup?  Is it better to have someone who gives you consistency or would you rather have someone who is overall a better player who has some really good games and really bad games?

Wafer for sure, he showed me nothing and I believe his contract wasn't guaranteed? goodbye
Only 1 game so far but:
very impressed with erden, he is not obryant at all, with a year or 2 of development he looks to be a great find for danny
nate = chicken with head cut off, only other guy besides wafer who looks out of place, i'd hope he's packaged in trade
Luke=looks good, good enough to be on team, can't see him gettting much pt thought
if there is 1 spot remaining i'd go with lasme, he reminds me of a young cornbread kind of

Isn't it great to see KG running at 100%, smoothly  ;D

Hopes currently dashed on Wafer.

Erden's made it.  Between Lasme and M. West, I think they have to keep West, unless they think Lasme can defend the 3.  If Lasme can defend the 3, he should beat out West, but I'm guessing they see him more as a 4, where Erden and Harongody will be hogging bench space and a bit of  playing time.  Too bad. He's got good spunk.

It's too early; there are still seven preseason games left.

Too early, but based on last night even if Wafer does make the team (only $150k is guaranteed), he's going to be pretty far down the depth chart.  Hoping it was just nerves, but he didn't look terribly comfortable out there.  Lasme looked good in his few minutes, he certainly seems to have the athleticism to play in the NBA, and Mario West has proven he can play NBA D (even if he can't do anything on the other end of the court).

Semih...  he's on the team.  He was on, anyway.  Dude looks like he's putting it all together.  Surprise is just that - at least based on this one game - he looks more like a guy that COULD make the active roster than someone who's destined to spend all season in Maine.  Philly's not the greatest frontcourt in the world, but the dude showed he can run (with some coordination), he's got decent hands, he can hit his free throws, he's willing to go after rebounds, he can pass the ball...  he's got a pretty complete skillset.  Doesn't look like nearly as much of a project as I thought he was.

That last roster spot's a tough call.  Almost have to say Lasme's in the lead right now, but I'd wager these three guys are battling it out for another seven games.

I think Erden is a no brainer to stay (his contract may be guaranteed anyways).  The second one if tougher.  If I had to pick, I would go with West, because he brings something they don't have a ton of...perimeter defense off the bench.  Wafer looked completely lost out there, and just seems to have lost his mojo, so I just don't see him making the team unless he really picks it up quickly.  And I just don't think Lasme has a role on this team.

Frankly, I think there is a chance that they only keep Erden, and leave a roster spot open for later in the season.

All Delonte does is dribble the ball at the top of the key and stall. Then with 6 seconds left on the shot clock jacks up a desperation piece of crap. This team works best when they are moving the ball and moving without the ball. Delonte distrupts the whole chemistry and rhythm of the offense, then clanks the hero shot. Cut him while we have the chance.
West hasn't been a ball stopper in his last three years. I don't think that's an aspect of his game I'd be worried about.

Cut Wafer... he is not a Celtic's type of player.  He won't defend and he can't pass the ball.

Question for everybody,

when we look at the bench are we assuming that

Nate will play SG and defend pgs, and West will play pg and defend sg's?
CB Draft LA Lakers: Lamarcus Aldridge, Carmelo Anthony,Jrue Holiday, Wes Matthews  6.11, 7.16, 8.14, 8.15, 9.16, 11.5, 11.16

I don't think so.  I think they'll both act in tandem as combo guards, but Nate will usually handle the initiation of the offense in most sets.

Nate seemed to be playing in more of a true PG mode last night.  Nice that you can have either of those guys (or Quis, who I thought looked very solid too) be able to get the team into its offense.

Second unit's looking good, and that's without even seeing JO or Avery Bradley (don't sleep on that kid) yet.
