Really? So that's why he's been playing him at the 4-5 position for the last 3 games? 

You really seem to have it in for Mr. Lasme. Doc really seems to like the guy and Doc did say he thinks he could guard some 3's.

I like the guy. A lot. But he's not a SF, hasn't been used as a SF so far, and it will probably be a mistake to look at him as any sort of solution for extended minutes at SF.

Yep - the man (Lasme) reminds me of Powe as well - the same fearlessness.

If we checked out his youtube clips, there is one of him flushing it on Primo Brezec, too - the thing that caught my attention in that clip was that the man must have the wingspan of a 7 footer or more.

He has limitations in his game, but I think if Doc turned him lose in certain situations he could be very productive for us.

I like Wafer too, but my question is: Who would be more productive for us in that 15th slot?

It looks like DWest and Nate have Ray and Rondo locked up....Marquis seems to be flourishing in Pierce's relief spot...Lasme looks like he could guard 3's (and some 4's with that wingspan of his).

But the biggest thing here is his fearlessness...

Yaaay GF...at last i get a tp....one for you 2......That is what i think about Lasme.....He goes at it, and can do it, i like how he gets the ball, and fakes and makes the D move so he can roll in for a dunk....who else on our team does that......uhm...KG...? Yup...and what is the other team gonna do to D that...ya, foul...Do we like a man who can make his own lanes, see how he moves without the ball for the rebound.......of course i know....this is opposite world, so because we see all this in him, we will dump him....and replace him with scal...! (Picture scal standing in the corner, waiting for the ball, picture LASME, GETTING the ball on a rebound  !). And lasme is just starting, get him around KG, PP and Ray more....what a training squad..KG loves lasme  you see what i see KG; "THAT IS WHAT I AM TALKING ABOUT" like 3 times already......as for M daniels, well, if this was his first year, i would like him, i am TRYING to forget his antics last year...did you-all forget that.....he does look good....but i think he has some quitter in him, some inherent weakness...i hope he is past that....

Maybe I was onto somethign with the OP. I've seen him play a few times now. He reminds me of Bo Outlaw. I think he can obviously play some PF in the right spots, but I'm most interested to see if he can play any SF D. Use his length to back off the quicker guys a little...

We'll see. But either way, he seems like a perfect 15th guy to me. All hustle and heart and an energy guy.

I like what I've seen. He made a few nice passes in the last game, a good dunk and I like the leaping, high energy he brings on the boards.

Plus - like a few here mentioned already - this is for the 15th spot. It's not like Lasme would be pressed into duty guarding Lebron on 26 Oct -

He could be brought along slowly - just like Semih. Both him and Semih have international experience, too....

Jevi made a good point, too - he may not be as big as Powe size-wise..he looks to be 6'8" and maybe 230? Powe was a beast of a man at 6'8" and I think 250?

A slightly bigger Stacy Augmon, anyone? Maybe not as polished offensively as him - but again this is spot 15 here:

Yeah GreenFaith, I see where you're going there with Stacey Augmon but as you mention he doesn't quite seem to have the offense.

But that's ok for me. If I kept the guy, I'd probably peg him for spot PF minutes which he currently seems suited for in the right situations.

But my main goal would be to see if, with some real heavy work on lateral quickness and foot speed drills all season with our trainers, could this be a guy who could play some tough D at the SF spot later this year?

That's how I'd try to develope the kid. Beacuse he's long, can leap and he has a good motor. If he can learn how to stay in front of guys that are a bit quicker than him...you could have something special; a pit bull on D at the SF spot.

I think it's a long shot maybe, but I'd give that a real long hard look.

Either way, I like him enough for the 15th spot right now.

I think this thread is a testament to how Wyc and Co. have allowed Danny to construct this team - and how Doc has coached it.

We are talking about the best player for our 15TH Spot.... .

That's a Deep Team. Something we haven't had a lot of over the years.

As a UMass student while Lasme was going, I can tell that Lasme is a fast learner.  He was always athletic, but he was completely lost his freshman year but you could see him getting better and better by literally every game he played.  He went from being a nobody on the offense to making some athletic putback moves into actually developing an actual post game all within a season.  If the learning curve doesn't slow down, he can be a great asset for this team.  I am not sure if he can play SF but if he can learn the position, he'd be nasty.

Get him on the team, then groom him with our staff. Even if he spends time in Maine, that will help him, too.

I didn't get to see the game last night, but people seem to be raving about Lasme's play.  Looking at his stat-line, I'm underwhelmed:  2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, 0 steals, 0 blocks, 0 turnovers, 50% shooting, 2 personal fouls, and one thunderous dunk in 10 minutes.

What was it that he did to impress people?  Was it just the drive and dunk?  Did he play smothering defense?  Did he move the ball well?

I loved Lasme's production in the first game, and I root for any guy who plays with heart and hustle.  I hope he becomes an NBA player.  However, I'm still not as excited as maybe a lot of his supporters are.

Part of the rooting for him is hoping that he has enough of what Danny wants to see in him.  From the look and sound of it, he might.
