It is nice to see that his jumper has returned. He ignored his jumper last season playing with Sheed.

His form also looks much better than two years ago. He has less of a hitch in his release. He used to pump the ball out when raising it for a jumper. He seems to go straight into his jumper now.

I'm not sure Baby won't be playing against many similar players during the season since he is coming off the bench.

Yes, Davis is looking like an asset off the bench early this year.

I'm sure im alone here but im loving Baby in the post this year, hes been drawing foul after foul after foul. Also have not seen him get stuffed at least without drawing the foul.

He has played well, but he seems to be ballhogging just a little bit.  His shot attempts have been pretty high, and drawing 10 free throw attempts is great, but he is not going to get the same results against good regular season defense.

I hope he doesn't get too cocky by putting up big numbers, then get mad when the results and playing time aren't quite the same when the season starts.

I'm concerned about this too a bit.  When Perkins comes back Davis is going to kick and scream another "What about meeee???!" whine.  Hopefully not though.

One thing I like that Davis has added in the offseason is that his hands are much more active on defense.  He's poking away balls and moving a bit quicker.

I didn't get the impression that his "jumpshot is back", like some people think.  It looked pretty ugly to me.  Get some arc baby!

No, you are certainly not alone. I think BBD looks great so far this year.

He was the best player off the bench last night for sure.  Have high hopes for Glen this year.

  • You know my methods, Watson.
I give it about 30 games before KG has Big Sissy sulking and crying...  I think we'll find out soon enough if the shots he's taking are in the flow of the offense or if he's trying to just get his own.  For now I'll give him the benefit of the doubt, but I believe, in light of his comments which are the origin of this thread, he will be under a microscope and this storyline is one to keep an eye on.

A. Sherrod Blakely, CSNNE – “Although Davis and Rivers have had their differences, Rivers will be the first to acknowledge Davis has tremendous value to the Celtics in their quest toward Banner No. 18. ‘He’s headed in the right direction,’ Rivers said. ‘He has a ways to go, but he’s clearly improved each year. He’s more comfortable. He understands what he needs to do on the floor.’ Added Davis: ‘[Rivers] knows me and in big games ::). . . he knows I’m a seasoned player who has performed in big games ::) coming off the bench.’ But there have been times when Davis has focused on excelling at one facet of his game, like scoring, which took away from his true strength, which is his versatility. Scoring may get the headlines, but players who excel at the game’s intangibles or less glorified aspects of the game, do quite well. ‘I’ve told him several times, Dennis Rodman was one of the best rebounders of all time,’ said C’s guard Ray Allen. ‘And he got paid great money. Ben Wallace, great rebounding, wasn’t a scorer. But he was making a max contract. [Davis] can carve out his own niche; because of his athleticism, his footwork, he can shoot the ball. Just being that guy that can fill in the gap. You don’t have to be a 15-20 points-per-night scorer. You can be nine points a night and grab 8 to 10 rebounds, and then you become the guy that people on other teams are always afraid of when you come to the game.’”
That value that Doc is talking about better be trade value. This article is not as dumb as this quote.

Really Doc, we haven't seen this combo enough? Keep Baby far away from KG.

I actually don't like him and think he would be good in a trade since I think he'll leave to be a starter (at least in his mind) and $$$  BUT he has been playing very very good.  Some of his comments are just dumb/immature.  Love Ray Allen's quote

Did anyone catch Donny's soliloquy on Baby last night?  He went on and on suggesting that Baby still needed to learn to be a professional off the court by showing up to practice on time, listening and such, and that Baby's play on the court wasn't good enough without his also following through off the court.  I figure his rant didn't come from nowhere.
